Interview at dominos pizza.

Ignore these tossers. If you'll enjoy it then all the better to you; most people are lucky to enjoy their job a third of the time.

Good luck with the interview. I am sure that they won't ask random stuff like that, and even if they do - try and work it out in your head, ask them questions "Is that the street off of XYZ?", I am sure it is blagg-able :)

I don't think street knowledge is that important anymore. Most of the delivery guys who come to me/sit 3 inches off my bumper have a satnav in the car.

I also have a satnav, so I should be ok.

My insurance does not cover business but I could just.. not tell them.

I delivered pizzas for a short while years ago. It wasn't a bad job actually. I got an hourly rate plus 50p a delivery (petrol was 58.9p/litre at the time) plus tips on most deliveries. For a about 4 hours work i used to get about £30-£40 cash (paid at the in end of each shift) which was quite good 11 years ago! I rarely had to touch my main wages in my bank account.

I had a good car to delivery with, it was a 1.3 escort that was worth next to nothing but was very good on petrol. I used to take a 2nd key out with me and lock the car door with the engine running when i went to houses! Illegal i think but thats what i did :D obviously the car was only unnatended for 1min and was still in my sight.

Yes and when you smash into a lamppost because someone is waiting for their mighty meaty, just tell the police the pizza is yours and your dominoes hat and the sign on top of the car was a freebie because you're such a good customer.

When i was there, they had a group business insurance policy that you could opt into. It was quite cheap really, I think it was £4.50/ a month. Again, this was 11 years ago.

Lamppost would be good, but there are more other road users to target instead :o

Oh, it'll be fine.

'I was coming from a fast food place going to a fancy dress party dressed as pizza delivery man, swerved to avoid a cat and went through a fence and into someones garden.'

conveniently with a hot pizza and pud in the back and also an insulated bag... well done.
don't be a fool.

You will only get abuse on here saying you want to deliver pizzas. If you are a young lad who is new to driving you will probably enjoy it for a while. It will only seem like hard work if you don't know the area you delivery to. I knew my area very well with only the odd cul-de-sac that I didnt know by name. It's quite easy to take 2-3 deliveries out at the same time (ONLY if you know exactly where each road is) and thats how you make money.

I got 50p petrol per delivery when petrol was HALF the price it is now. So presuming you get £1 per delivery and you take out 3 deliveries at a time you would get about £6-9 per hour in petrol plus an houly rate which is probably minimum wage plus tips

I don't think I can imagine a worse possible way to start off driving. First of a Matiz which is pretty dire to begin with, then it'll stink of pizza's all the time + quite possibly dirty, the wear on the car will be ramped up massively with all the stop start residential door to door driving (more costs). You'll have to cover the car properly insurance wise too, which will be expensive as a young driver.

I mean, it's not even like you'll be compensated anywhere near enough with their wages surely?

I worked as a Dominos delivery driver last year so just ask any questions.

You have to show them your MOT and Insurance and then you get covered by their insurance, so there is no need to add business to your insurance.

The pay when I was there was quite competitive, around £5.35 I think, and I was 18, then I worked out that on average I got 50p per delivery in tips, and we got paid 60p per delivery in petrol, or £1 if you went outside a 3 mile radius. The petrol more than covered my fuel and on an average night I would deliver about 12 pizzas, so the tips work out around an extra hours pay for free.

It was a good job and I enjoyed it and you will too, there is a big map on the wall and you will get co-ordinates on the drivers slip to show you where on the map it is, carry and A to Z aswell though.

As for the interview, they normally aren't picky, I just turned up and it was basically them taking my details, no questions asked really.

Hope this helps, any more questions just ask.
