INTRODUCE ME TO SOME NEW BANDS ???

If you're trying to insinuate that any of the bands you named have anything to do with punk rock (rather than pop-punk), then you're a wally.

What you're after is bands like Hit The Lights, Valencia, Nural, The Format, The Used, Fall Out Boy, etc.

If you actually want decent punk of today (ie. zero relation to any of the following: mohawks, oi, glue, Lars "I'm a bell-end" Fredriksen, or pop) then start looking up bands like:

Latterman
The Draft
No Trigger
Set Your Goals
Ignite
Sick of it All
Crime in Stereo
Milloy
The Sainte Catherines

but I'm guessing you won't :p
I'm backing about 80% of this up.

Cartel
The Academy Is
Anberlin
This Providence
Copeland
Taking Back Sunday

Just a few of the artists I've been listening to lately, quite like them all and definately worth a look :)

Thats V2.
V3 added Hughes and Coverdale.
V4 added Tommy Bolin
I've just acquired some excellent live DVD's of the V2 lineup and I even got hold of a rare Live In Japan V4 with Tommy Bolin on guitar
I don't know what version the latest is but I also got hold of a 2004 concert in Switzerland.

Technicaly thats true but i always like to think of V1 as when simper and evans were replaced by Gillan and Glover :)

(remember them? ;)),

*n
I remember them, saw them a couple of times and have both their albums (think there was only 2) somewhere. They changed their name to The Crimea or something didn't they?

Well you can't because it doesn't work :D
Go up to any old Deep Purple fan and say you prefer Mark One Purple and they'll think you're daft.
Mark Two will always be Gillan, Blackmore, Paice, Glover and Lord.

How can you call this guy a wally when you come out with similar sounding bands.
Now I'm calling you a wally because the only decent punk bands were The Ramones & Sex Pistols - anything else was a copy.

Never heard of them but I'll go and check them out.

Update -
Just heard Ring Of Fire (Johnny Cash) and Reach For The Sky and the first thing I thought was "Dropkick Murphys".

I like the obscure kinds of music but one source is a publication I convert from print to digital and add tracks and videos.

You can view the latest issue here

Other samples and archives of mags from http://www.swellmusic.co.uk/.

There's usually some obscure or unique stuff in these mags and it's quite varied which I like.

One particular band I do like called Mew. My favuorite song of theirs is Snow Brigade. They're great live too.

ZEBRAHEAD
AMEN
AT THE DRIVE-IN
EVE6
RIVAL SCHOOLS
QUICKSAND
HANDSOME
GUANO APES
INME
JANE'S ADDICTION
KHOMA
THE MUSIC
OCEANSIZE (OBLIGATORY RECOMMENDATION)
RISE AGAINST
SPARTA
SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE

don't know why we're shouting, but i've never been one to ignore such an obvious trend

school boy humor ?
the get up kids ?
Armor for sleep ?
The starting line ?
Brigade ?
Hundred reasons even maybe ?

I like some of the bands you have mentioned and i also listen to the above so maybe ?
