Flight sims I can understand, what with that being the way the controls are in planes. In FPS' though? Not a chance, push up to look up, pull down to look down.

Same...

To be honest, if you think its that hard switching from a KB & Mouse to a controller... maybe you should have stayed :p

blue dragon does annoy me as well. i screw it up everytime. why they invert both i have no idea!

How!? Whats there to get confused and annoyed about?

Any game I play stays on default controls, I learn to play the game that way.

If I'm playing an FPS on the PC I normally make it so middle mouse jumps as well as space - other than that its normal all the way

Used to have the controls inverted when I first started Halo many years ago, but now I just play with normal controls.

Probably because I don't play PC games much any more.

With Blue Dragon if you select inverted then not only do you hold up to look down you have to hold left to turn right... and that is freakish.

Can't quite believe this poll, I always thought everyone inverted the Y axis...

exactly. why push left to go right - thats wrong. up for down is correct.

i thought everyone did as well :)

I hate inverted controls, i don't mind them so much in planes or something but when you're controlling a person in 3rd person i hate it, when i 1st played warhawk i was like wtf, everything you do was inverted(running, driving & flying) soon changed it though;)

That is what I love with the Xbox 360, as when you set it up you tell the console that you invert the Y axis and voila, all your games are done that way...

Not inverting is freakish, don't know how anyone can push the stick up to go up... wierd :D

I suppose it stems from the fact your head moves forward when looking down, and back when looking up...

And another thing!

When you hold the controller you're actually holding it flat, not vertically. So technically you're not actually pushing 'up' to go down, you're pushing 'forward' and again you're pulling 'back' (not pushing 'down') to look up.

Simple.

lol I love some of the ridiculous explanations given for why inverted is 'the right way' :D

End of the day the right way is whatever feels best for the individual playing.

Yep, no right or wrong, just preference :)

Personally, I always invert up / down due to playing flight sims over the years. Back has always been pull up and thats how its stuck with me.

Ditto :)

Its just what seems natural to me - lean head forward to look down / back to look up.

I went to my first LAN [I30] earlier this year and was totally shocked that majority of CSS players had normal - upto then I thought Inverted was 'normally' - although thinking about it, if it was it would be the default option on all games I guess :D
