iPad 2

Yeah but changing it from 4:3 would mess with all the apps far more than just raising the res. For things like reading 16:9 isn't too hot. Keeping it 4:3

1280x960
1600x1200

One of those two perhaps?

They're probably more likely, I was just saying how unrealistic being a similar pixel density to iPhone 4 would be for 2nd gen 7 or 9.7inch tablet.

1600x1200 is probably the most realistic target for Apple.

The only other possible thing I would say is viewing angles isn't as great as, for example an iMac screen. If they could make that better than good stuff.

Blah blah blah cameras, it will be the same or similar to the iPod Touch and the end result the same. I wouldn't suddenly go out and replace my iPad which I just brought a week ago. I will be laughing if people really think they would use the a camera on the iPad for stills/video. I have an iPhone 3G, with a camera, doesn't mean I use it for ALL my photos - give me a DSLR or even normal compact camera any day of the week. And personally I don't want the iPad to physically change in dimensions, its just right in IMO. Decent thickness, feels solid/durable, perfect screen size. All I can see is a front/rear facing camera on par with the new iPod Touch. :)

It really grinds my gears when people compare the iPad to other new "tablet" devices. There was a samsung like 7 inch screen tablet in PC world the other up next to the iPads. Horrible thing to look at and having an sd card slot doesn't automatically make it better. The interface was shocking, battery life about as good as an android phone and as far customising which everyone seems to go on about when comparing Apple products - the samsung can do **** all really, a jail broken iPad would be a FAR better purchase. The samsung was more than the base iPad, and had a better "spec" but it doesn't mean anything if the software is bloated. :o:rolleyes:

They'll probably do a resolution increase but that is needed far less than extra RAM.

As for a USB Port. No chance.

You're probably right, but with the recent EU agreement about standardizing mobile phone chargers to micro USB it would make sense to include one on the iPad since they seem to be keen on keeping parity with the iPhone. That's my rationale anyway, but I agree RAM is top of the list.

It'll be out at the end of Q1 2011 (April/May), although they may choose to announce it in January again.. like they did with iPad 1.
