Do you mind me asking why you'd want one seeing as you have a note and a nexus 7 already?

It would purely be for sofa surfing/email to replace the Nexus 7. I like the Nexus 7 but the form factor of that mini in the video if true looks great.

The iPad mini would have to be around £299 for the lowest model to fit in with apple price line up. That's nearly double the nexus 7s price.

They might drop the iPad 2 and replace it with the mini with the same price as £329.

If it had a retina display, A6 CPU and great battery then it would be worth £299.

I know its not going to happen but an iPad Mini with Retina, A6 CPU and all day battery would be an instant purchase. If it is a smaller iPad 2 then I will wait until next year.

Really looking forward to having a go on the mini. I think I will give this generation a miss but the next couple of years are going to be interesting with this form factor. When Apple put an A6/A7 with retina display in the mini it will be an amazing handheld computer being so thin and light weight.

Looks like I will give this generation a miss. This is what I want:

Retina
Bonded screen
A6+ CPU

I like the form factor though.

Had a good play with the mini yesterday for the first time. Love the form factor and weight. Did not like the non retina display though. Put a magazine on it and the text was too fuzzy for me. Speed was ok but I will wait for the retina version and then it will be my perfect tablet.

Had my mini for a week and I have to say I am liking it much more than I thought I would. It is the first device that feels quite futuristic when carrying it round the house. It is so thin and light it just feels great in the hand.

I am a bit fussy with my tech and I resisted at launch due to the lack of the retina display and A6 SoC. Like others have said you do notice the resolution at first but it has not impacted on my usage as much as I thought. Reading magazines is fine and no problem at all for social media and web viewing.

Performance is OK but every now and again the device slows down and it does get a little frustrating when you are wanting to flip quickly between apps. It would have been great to have the A6 in a device like this. Web pages reloading frequently when multiple tabs are open due to the 512Mb really is not on in my opinion.

Looking forward to future iPad mini models. I don't think we will get a retina, A6/7 mini until 2014 due to the technical challenges required to get the required thickness and battery life. Although Sharp's IGZO screen technology could help speed up the time to market for a retina mini. I am certainly looking forward to using one though :)

I should think they'd go with the same 2048x1536 resolution as in the iPad. The only thing that is slightly troubling with that is that the A5X was noted to struggle with retina games which is probably why the A6X was introduced so quickly. So having the first gen iPad mini with the A5 and 1024x768 might be a preferable spec until they get the A6X in the mini.

I think the battery is what we need to worry about the most with an A6X SoC and retina display in the iPad mini.

I had the choice between an iPad 4 or a mini and the form factor of the mini won out over the higher specs of the iPad 4 for me, it's near absolute perfection for me when used without a case, which I think is very important for the mini, to really enjoy the mini it has to be naked imo, I use the mini just as I imagined using a startrek data pad when I was younger, I think a lot of people really underestimate the importance of form factor.

Same, it is perfection. If they can get a retina display, A7 and a revamped iOS 7 in there then nirvana will have been obtained!
