iPad now?...or wait?

Was there not rumours of an iPad with a larger screen coming out? Also wish the current iPad had retina screen res.
As far as I'm away it was only smaller talk not bigger. Anything bigger is silly!
What do people feel about the size of the iPad? Is 16gb too small? is it worth getting the 32gb?
It really does depend, applications can be extremely large! I have a number over 350MB each. I think one is even 550.
Pen and paper also take excellent notes at uni. :P

If you want one and can afford/willing to buy one do it.
I would use pen and paper for making notes any day unless I had a stylus. Pen and paper would be quicker. If you're talking about written notes, not typed

Check out Macrumors - retina display with front and back cameras? Apparently they will make an announcement feb 1st.

I really don't see the new version have a rear facing camera. it makes no sense. I could never see myself holding it up to take photos when I have my iphone in my pocket. Its just a waste of internal space which could be used for a bigger battery.

With the display I think Apple kicked themselves slightly with the 1st gen screen. The resolution is OK but it doesn't leave much room for improvement. If they change it to say 1280x960 or 1600x1200 all the current apps would look ****. Only thing they could do is up it to 2048x1536 but that would require too much of mobile graphics to run games at. I reckon they'll stay at 1024x768 at least for v2.

Another rumour has been the addition of a SD slot. I don't think that will come as there's already an accessory to do it and Apple don't like adding more buttons/slots/things on the sides.

Not a chance of an SD slot.

I reckon there could be, as someone else has said they don't look bad on the Macbooks/iMacs.

It wouldn't surprise me either way, basically.

I don't think there will be a 'retina' display, because Apple's definition of what makes a retina display would surely cost a huge amount to implement at that size. Could happen, but I'm not convinced.

If it has retina then it would basically have the same res as a 27" imac, on 9.7" screen!!!

Sure it will look jaw dropping but the yield rate for that must be low, and the cost will be silly money.

Says April, which I guess is several months, and is a little different from the 3-4 weeks predicted earlier in the week. Although I always took that as meaning officially announced in 3-4 weeks and released 1 year after the first one.
