IPAD pfffft, bye bye

After selling my last system in march i have been using my ipad and although very good at emails and browsing, i just cant play battlefield on it, so the times come to get back to all things PC, how i missed you

Anyhow purchased the below today, which should be with me tomorrow and the rest will be with me in 2 weeks, although still undecided on gpu/'s
Will be running 2560 x 1440 res with an asus or i may go for a viewsonic.
The 4770k will be watercooled (custom)
And for now i may just go with 7950 xfire, very good price indeed and will suffice until maxwell.
I will keep this updated the best i can, but its going to get a lot easier once my machine is built.

Edit: after being very fortunate the spec has been upgraded, want this to last for a few years.

It is a very good looking board, heavy too due to the metal shields, front and back.

Question: Looking at the specs for the board, is it just plug and play for the water cooling? Never seen it like this before?

Basically yes, just pull off the rubber covers and use normal wc fittings.
Really no need though to wc vrm's, its really for asthetics.

They have all been tube style with these cases, so wanted to be a little different. The retaining mech does not work with it so need to find a way of holding it in place.

What's the benefit of de-lidding the chip? Board looks awesome, now if only someone did something similar for AMD builds

It will drop temps by 15-20 degrees, but you lose warranty and risk damaging the chip.
Intel used crap paste under the lid, i shall replace with liquid metal pro or if i do do it may get a ek direct die bracket.

In doing all this results in lower temps and higher clock speeds

As Hakanese Says, you just need a EK supremacy and a Naked Ivy Kit, Mine is currently sitting waiting for a few more parts before it is up and running but all fits fine on a Haswell.

Looks like can only buy them direct from EK now unless ocuk plan on getting anymore.

Looking very nice so far Nick, red cables is something i may look into as well. Still using the blue modular corsair cables, that and a pair of red or black backplates for my 670's. The blue just doesnt look right with this board.

Don't think the evbot will be necessary on air, will be able to do 1.35v with the volt mod tool thing and they will run pretty warm at that.

Yeah naked, but that'll be a few weeks off, more than likely have to order from EK direct, unless ocuk get some stock in. Will have loads to do between now and then, will no doubt be spending a week downloading, updates, progs, games etc, used to save em all to HDD for when i cleaned an install, but all from scratch this time
