Hey guys, my iPad I's acting strange, iTunes/pc won't pick it up, it won't charge when it's turned on, eaven if I put the charger I'n and turn it off it won't charge, the only way to do it I's let it run out of power and charge, but then when it gas enough to turn on, around 4 percent it just starts up and won't charge anymore, so to me that dosent seem Like my battery's auctually dead, and the leads/port I's working fine , I can't try a firmware reset because iTunes won't pick it up, not I'n dfu either, and yes it's jailbroke but has been for 3 months or so, please help ?!

Have you done a hard reset (boot with power and home held down)? Does your iPad charge at all via USB?

If you haven't, try the first, if the answer is no to the second, try another wall charger, an iPhone, HTC, or pretty much any USB charger that meets the requirements will be fine.

Yeah I have done all that, can't take bk to apple because it's jailbroke and can't undo it because the pc won't direct it, I've orderd a kit to self replace the battery and a new battery,,but I don't eaven know if that would help if I did it correctly :/

i think its tinyumbrella that forces an idevice to hardreset, this should let you restore to normal firmware

Don't get what u meen? I've done hard reset by holding the buttons down , and put I'n dfu Still won't be detected or charged ;( , tinyumbrella?

Here's an update , ok so I left my pad with the charger plugged I'n , it runs out of battery and then charges to say 5 percent , the next time or two it runs out and charges again it goes up a percent , when it reached 18 percent it's now Dandong started displaying the not charging message (which auctually dose charge just very slowly) , so basicly it's charging for now , I don't want to unplug it incase it dosent charge again , but hopefully when I do mabye iTunes will detect it and I can unjailbreak it and send it back, I hope

I know there was a whole thing about jail breaking your iphone is now allowed, but is it the same for the iPad and do jail broken devices invalidate any warranty?

Out of interest, how could jailbreaking invalidate a hardware warranty? Or come to that your statutory rights? It's not like jailbreaking involves ripping the insides out or actually touching hardware.

Err no but I did by it seccond hand , I've had it like 4 months now,, can't get it to say not charging again now or anything , back to square one :(

Take it in, if it's a hardware problem then how would Apple get it going again without replacing the battery?

Surely they'd just give you another iPad.

I'm not sure it I's hardware , I've heard roumers it's the 4.3 update bugs , I got the update straight away and then jailbroke , 2 days later there was a new update, I couldn't b botherd to unjailbreak and update and rejailbreak and re sync and all that stuff , pluss when it's off and u put the charger I'n it turns on , so it knows the cabels I'n and powers going I'n , pluss my battery did charge 1 time dice this problem , just weirdly

I have this portable charger , a USB device that powers anything USB, it charges my iPhone fine , it used to say "not charging" on my iPad though , reading into the problem I'm having I learnt that when it says not charging it auctually does with the screen off , so figured I'd try and charge it with that now , now it dosent say charging or not charging , but does auctually charge it , incredibly slowly though. 2 percent I'n 3 hours :/

Yeah I have , I have 4 chargers , and I got my partner a iPad and they charge hers fine, that's what's weird , the low power USB charger I have I's the only thing charging it, but sooo slowly , the charger device puts 50 percent on my iPhone and I's depleted I'n 2 hours , it put 5 percent on my iPad I'n 6 hours

Ok , so none else with this problem?
Now I am using iPad charger to a USB battery to iPad , and this charges but Incredibly slowly and dosent say it's charging or "not charging" but if I took the USB battery out and did straight from plug to iPad it would do nothing (not charge) , I meen what the he'll this makes no sence
