iphone 4 memory

i thought all current "unlimited" deals were coming to an end October and data will be capped at 500mb.

like I said, no idea...wish I knew. The news is in October, we're still in August soooo maybe they're offering it for the time being? Lord knows, think I will contact O2 later on and ask just to make sure but the small print does say 1GB allowance, T-Mobile also offer this

i am currently on "unlimited" internet with my iPhone simplicity deal and it suits me to stay with it. Although i have been told by o2 that come October i will have my internet capped at 500mb as "unlimited" internet will be no more so now it is time to look for a new contract.
i am thinking of moving over to three as they have some great deals at the moment.

my mate is on Three with the iphone, and he ain't happy at all...

btw I do apologise to everyone on here, I just rechecked the site and it is 500mb and unlimited Wi-Fi, I'm guessing 500mb is the data allowance and the unlimited Wi-Fi is the roaming (i.e. for those that are not sure, 500mb is the amount you can download etc. but you can surf the net as much as you like)...am I right guys???

500MB limit over the O2 network, so when you're on a 3G signal etc. Wi-Fi is unlimited - obviously when you're on a home Wi-Fi network, and unlimited through O2 Wi-Fi hot spots, if you can find one.

fortunately for me, that's exactly what I get at home (the home wi-fi that is), and I work at colleges and universities, so I just use their Wi-Fi spots :D :p

edit: btw thanks for the more simpler explanation kidscruff, couldn't have put it better myself!!!

can i ask why your mate is unhappy with three?
i know there call centres are terrible but i thought they were getting better as a whole.

They're quite common to be honest.

I can latch onto BT Openzone as I walk around sheffield city centre and most pubs have some kind of free wifi which are either free to use from the pub, or because you have an o2 phone.

Re : 16GB vs 32GB

Like others have said it depends how many files you need with you at any time.
I have a 32GB and have filled just over half of it now, as a guide this includes

  • 1500 Songs : 8.9GB
  • 10 videos : 400MB
  • 650 photos : 700MB
  • 85 apps : 5.7GB
  • 5 books : 40MB
  • Other stuff - Themes etc : 800MB

I have TomTom UK & Ireland installed - this is about 360MB.
I also have The Elements App which is 1.2GB

Yeah I didn't read ur post properly about the unlimited internet. But would have put it down to a typo anyway. Unlimited data over 3G seems to be dead.

If your on an existing contract I think keep your unlimited until the end of your say 18 month contract. Soon as it rolls over your the same as everyone else. If your contract has already rolled over or your on a new contract, the data limit kick in around sept/oct time.
