at the moment i'm planning on using my pac to go to the orange sim only plan, buying the phone unlocked from apple and getting orange to send out a micro sim (does that all sound workable?) if 3 or tmobile come out with some good offers I could consider them too. Why are they taking to long to announce their deals?

vodafone, because i travel a lot and my o2 iphone regularly goes to 'no service' whereas my blackberry soliders on far more often.

I know the device has some impact, but vodafone seems better coverage to me.

Sticking with O2. I might be wrong but looking at their website etc O2 are still offering unlimited data on their simplicity plans (even for new customers!).

The only network provider to get a decent signal at my house is Orange. :( O2 and T-Mobile can get SOME coverage but its pretty patchy. I'm with O2 at the moment, really don't know where to go. Orange's 3G is pretty patchy around Wigan and my Mrs gets free texts to me currently (O2-O2) so will probably stick with them.

O2.

I'm secretly hoping the unlimited data doesn't evaporate in October, I get excellent coverage and it's only £20 :)

Probably O2. Been with them for years and their 3G coverage in and around Manchester has been flawless for me. I even get good 3G in Snowdonia when near a village/town [with no mountain in the way! :p].

In fact I can't even remember when I last couldn't get 3G somewhere!

Looking at a 12m simplicity plan though. Don't want to be in another 18month contract - absolutely no gain to be had with "proper" monthly contract when after selling my 3G I will have all the money I need for the iPhone 4 :D

Not decided yet. I will be tomorrow probably.

I hate paying high handset prices on a contract :p

What do people think the best deal is at the moment with regard to contracts?

After the news today I would pick Tesco, a MNVO using the O2 infrastructure with some very nice contracts.

Also on a side note, great way to shoot yourself in the foot O2, saying your network can't handle people going over 500MB of data and then letting Tesco offer 1GB and your network.

Is there really no catch/disadvantage to this Tesco deal? How come they can offer the price differentiation that none of the other providers can?

I've been with Tesco since just before Christmas when I got my 3GS.. great service so far and mine is a 12m contract.. it's great!

I'm gonna leave it for a bit while I look into the price plans...
Unlimited data is a must really.. I reset my data counter on my 3GS this morning and I used 75MB by the end of the working day.

However... i doubt I'll be going with o2 again.. The signal around the Newcastle/Sunderland area is DISGUSTING. My gf walks into her street and looses all bars.. i can't ring her and she can't use her phone at home.

My eyes are open and waiting to see what happens :)

In answer to the OP now we have got to the end of the day -

Which ever place gets stock in first and once we've heard from Apple regarding the antenna problem.
