Did you read up on the issue whereby battery life was affected if you restored the iPhone 4 from a 3G / S backup? Could that be affecting you?

My battery lasted something like 7 hours actual usage, 5 days standby before it needed charging today.

Do you have a link for this? I'm interested to see what this says.

wish i didnt bother doing this, i put into dfu mode with the hope of starting fresh, now its stuck on the connect to itunes bit and when i tuens detects and i click update/recover tab its does it all till it gets the the verify update bit and gives me error 3014.

dont suppose anyone knows how long apple take in sending out replacements? and how i can properly wipe emails and photos from this bricked one?

Do you have the latest version of iTunes? I remember having the same error when I tried to restore an old iPhone on an older version of iTunes.

No. You can keep contacts if you sync with Windows Address Book or Apple's own Address Book.

I never restore from backups, it's asking for problems. Especially with new hardware and a new OS revision :(

Has anyone noticed the yellow spots on the screen disappearing, but then re-appearing a few minutes later? The blotches are on mine most of the time now but the odd time they'll disappear for a short while.

Damn is it that bad an idea? Might wipe my iPhone 4 over the weekend and manually install everything. Nothing seems wrong with the phone, but I swear I havent noticed the battery being any better than the 3GS...

Not looking forward to it :(. Getting ntlworld email working over Wifi and 3G is an art :p

ps3ud0

I restored mine from a 3G backup and my battery lasts 2 days easily, much better than my 3G. Should I assume I don't have a problem and it doesn't get any better than this? lol

Depends what you are doing. Is that 2 days including standby, or 2 days hammering it?

With "normal" use and everything (inc push) turned on I get approx 6-7 hours actual usage with 5 days standby.

My iPhone 4 battery went for 3 days and only just flagged the "low battery" warning. But that's mostly on standby with occasional texts / e-mails and a couple short calls.

Normal use seems to last a couple days. One day if playing a lot of games!

mine has been revived, called apple this after noon explained what i did and how it wont work and i tunes gives error 3014. he told me to try a diff pc with xp on instead of win 7. when i explained i only have 3 linux based pcs and just 1 win7 64bit he told me to install hotspot shield. i explained i did this and it doesn't work with win7 64bit he then pointed out thats what xp compatibility mode is for. he did insist i try 1 more day with the phone setup as new phone rather than restore to see if it solves my battery problem

My top mic has died it would seem, very quiet and you have to be right up close to it hum wondering what to do about, not using a case or anything that might cover it.

Ok In the last 2 days I have accidentally hung up on two people due to the proximity sensor not registering my face. Its getting very annoying.

Can't say I've had a single problem with my Iphone 4 so far.

Wifi works fine, seems quicker then my 3GS.

Can't say I've noticed a signal "loss" at all, or no more so then I'd get about the house then on my 3GS.

Really happy with it, the screen is beautiful.

overall my phone is fine I only lose one bar on edge if I death grip it for a 30 secs or more and no problems with the proximity sensor and no yellow screen.

only problem I'm having is the poor 3G signal, if I put the sim in my Nokia n95 I get 5 out of 7 bars on 3G but I only get 1 bar on the Iphone and it would drop to Edge which gives me full bars.

been onto iphone support again today nothing like how it was yesturday. when i explained to the woman the problems i faced and itunes previously giving 3014 errors. i asked for a replacement as its under a week old. instead she insisted i contact my isp to fix my "issues" with my routerwhich is working fine. or go to a a pllestore and they will give me replacement. sheffield is my nearest one and is a bit far

The top mic is for noise cancelling.

Yeah it seems to be the one used when recording or using face time because all I get now is noise and anything it picks up is very quiet, voice recording and calls using the bottom mic are fine.
