Does your iPhone rattle when shaken?

Not on this, but mine rattles when the vibration goes off - a brief check inside narrows the culprit to the new circular vibration motor located near the SIM card slot...

Please do not hotlink images. Thank you.

When this vibrates, it has what sounds like a loose part inside that is being pinged around. It sounds very cheap and not at all like other iPhone 4 (drum vibration motor accepted) or other iPhone 4S'.

Apple are collecting it on Tuesday for a replacement/repair inside of 5 days. Will see what happens next!

There is a certain amount of rattle in all iPhones due to the accelerometer, but that sounds broke!

I had an iPhone 4 replaced for a similar issue - every time it vibrated, it rattled. Was a dodgy vibration motor. Apple Store just replaced it on the spot

Mine does. I'm assuming it's related to either the accelerometer or the lens components. Not a great sound, a light tap to the rear at the top produces it.

I'll keep an eye out, seems to be a lot of threads around on this.

Same here, a tap above the Apple logo makes the rattle. Holding the camera corner between fore finger and thumb stops it. Threads appearing across the net. I assumed it was down to the new vibration motor as they have changed it now. Does seem louder than my iP4

Mine rattles a lot. I wasn't sure it was an issue though as my old 3GS did the same. My IP4 doesn't though.

Mine rattles when I tap the back but from Googling it, it seems most people have the same issue. Don't think I'll let it annoy me... Hopefully.

It's the accelerometer ( you hear if you tap the back ), it's happened on every iPhone I've ever held

Mine rattles a lot - never had this issue with several previous iPhone 4's, so putting it down to the new type of vibrating motor.

Definately makes the phone feel cheaper, but guess it's just the way the 4S' are.

Well I compared mine against my girlfriends new iPhone 4s and mine is just comical. It rattles and the vibrate is seriously noisy compared to hers. Going to be visiting the genius bar.

One question- will they swap it out for a brand new one (with proper box) as its only a week old, or try and fob me off with a refurb? And I suppose the other question is... will they actually HAVE any new one's to replace it with?

I've sent mine off today - will advise as necessary. I don't think they have any 'refurb' yet, as the device hasn't even been out a week yet.
