iPhone 4S - the deal you got

Very happy with Three so far. Even when Vodafone had 3G coverage, the speed is nothing compared to that on Three. :)

I thought they impied that the handset made the 3G quicker, so the network may be irrelevant in this instance as it would be quicker anyway because of the way the phone works?

I might have mis-understood though.

Vodafone are well known to have slow network performance and 3 being the fastest of them all.

Can I get one from O2 by phone/online. I don't have time to go to a store apart from at the weekends and I'm not prepared to go through the stress of queuing and faffing about. Would be nice to get the early upgrade deal on the 16GB one before the end of the month.

No chance of getting one from o2 by phone /online. I have a friend whos disabled and physically cannot get to the shops, his tried but they just told him tough he will have to wait until they decide to release them online, no date given for this though.

Got my iPhone 4S White 32GB :D, beautiful phone was gonna get black but the finger prints so annoying, paid £615 from three, because i had to pay for PAYG top up even though i already had 3 sim, better than waiting forever for Apple to get their rubbish system sorted.

Went into 3 Store at Kingston, and I was like you got any iPhone 4S instock, and they was like yeah, but we only got 32GB models, so i bought the white one on PAYG.

Happy with 3.

I only ever got GPRS at work on O2, now I get full 3G.
I used to get Edge at home on O2, now I get 3 bars 3G.

In some instances, it's quicker than our work internet (crap 2Mb line.. don't ask!) :D

Called them yesterday and upgraded my 1 month Sim 300 plan to 12 months, to bring the price down to £10 a month :)

Is there a reason to buy one on PAYG? Why not just buy it sim-free?

In my experience over the years looking at sim-free vs. PAYG, the best I've ever found is something like £15 credit included on a sim-card you'll never use anyway!

Thinking of buying my first ever iPhone... :)

Can anyone confirm if the three deal on the One plan for £35 include *unlimited* tethering? I know it supports the tether function and this plan has "all you can eat" data but wondered if there a catch on this deal? Does the tether work across 802.11n ?

The tether function is important to me so I can use my iPad and macbook when out and about.

Well it's supposedly unlimited, but if you hammer the internet and rack up a lot of useage it may be slowed down or you might be warned about it. I am talking excessive useage though like 15+ gig a month download. It can't be completely and utterly all you can eat, there must be a point when they think that's a little bit to much.

Not sure about your other question.

The One Plan offer's inclusive free tethering, and there is no fair usage policy.

Thanks guys. I am not out to BW hog - just wondered if indeed it was all you can eat from the tether as wll as from the IPhone itself- within acceptable use of course. There is sometimes a catch in these contracts....!
