I spoke to an Apple store yesterday and they confirmed that you do have to try again the next day, unfulfilled reservation requests are deleted.

I wonder if you can make a request at more than one store? The website does not stop you, I tried three stores this morning, will wait for the e-mail.

PS, I would have thought us PC enthusiasts would be going for Windows Phone 8 - which I think looks very good, fingers crossed that they do well and provide more competition.

You just reserve online. You collect and pay in the shop.

I thought that if you are successful it would be a next day pick up? Not sure though.

You can't pick a day to collect. If you are able to successful reserve a device you'd have to collect it the following day else it'll go on general sale.

damn you cant specify when to pick up. I have one reserved for tomorrow, But I wont be picking it up till Saturday! ha! doh!

Spoke to them this morning, they are using a lottery system not a first come first served reservation system. So reserving at 9:00am makes no difference lol.

I think this may be to keep u away from the stores, but still creating "Hype" which apple want....

I also think walk in customers will take preference, at the end of the day what ever stock is left will then go to reservations...
