*** iPhone 5S/5C - September 10th ***

Spent about half an hour in the apple store mk yesterday trying to pick one, caved and ordered the 16gig 5s in space grey instead of the 32gig green c :)

I like the colour but I know I wouldn't enjoy the phone over the next 2-3 years (how long I see the 5s lasting me) when the space grey will be timeless.

Giff gaff sim is waiting for the magic day I don't have to be on Vodafone any more :D
 
I do wonder whether or not I'm either unlucky or fussy. My device does have the gyro calibration issue, which is obviously a problem. However, I notice hat there is either a slight scratch or a piece of dust under the glass, not within the display area, that can be seen under certain lighting. Not a huge deal, but at £700 you expect perfection. Debating whether or not to get the thing replaced if the gyro issue is fixed by software, but I've been through the replacement process so many bloody times now.

Not for sim-only, and I'm not sure the contacts get that much cheaper.

It's pretty painless, especially if you're near an Apple store, so I say go for it. That sort of stuff would drive me mad :p
 
Mine turned up on Tuesday, got it today from next door.

It's beautiful, blows my sensation Xe out the water (as it should) in just about every way

TouchID is unbelievably slick, I though it'd be a bit gimmicky maybe (like androids face recognition). It isn't.

I've also got the Red Leather Apple case. It fits very well, and feels great in the hand. It's reasonably grippy. Something to note is they do warn as it's natural leather it will wear. We shall see.

What colour did you get? I wonder if a red leather would stain the silver / gold banding on the 5S?
 
Received my 5s from CPW yesterday - very happy :D sometimes the fingerprint reader fails though, hope an update sorts this.

Can I still buy Applecare+ even though I bought the phone via CPW?
 
Sick of working 7 days a week almost :P i have the cash to buy one but not the time to get to an Apple store early enough.. Might try tomorrow mind.. Anyone had any luck in the new Leeds Store?
 
It's usually at this point that I regret not buying.

There's a great app called "Delivery Status Touch" check it out mate. You can track multiple couriers at one time.
 
Anyone having grief with their accelerometer?

Can't say I give a flying one myself, hardly use it for gaming as it is. Seems it's enough to start people off though...
 
As posted above I am, fussed as I do play a fair number of games however I'm not going to fret and go through the swapping process over and over again. Going to ring Apple today to see if the can get it down on my count (I have another issue as well) then just get them to swap it by post when the situation has improved.

Thing is though its pretty pointless taking it in at the moment as you will be waiting for them to supply you with a new one. It's a bit rubbish if there is a more obvious defect, for example I ordered two iPhone 4S' when they launched and one had a visible prang on one of its edges. The person I bought it for though didn't really care.

The gyroscope thing though will either be fixed with a software update, or Apple will never acknowledge it and address the problem in later revisions. In which case further down the line, it might be worth taking to an Apple Store and arguing it out.
 
I'm going to wait till stock is easily available before complaining about the gyro. Seems like it is most likely a hardware issue as the 5 and 4s don't suffer from it on iOS7.
 
Can anyone tell me how long they have waited for a Iphone 5S silver 16GB?

I ordered mine from Orange last Sunday, and I haven't got a consignment number from the courier yet.
 
So phoned AppleCare, rather confusing call. I told them that I wanted to inform them of the issues, and the woman on the other end recommended that I bring the phone into my local store (and that no appointment was required) and that I could have them look at it if I wanted them to. Load of rubbish (you need an appointment), but it looks like I don't need to bring the phone in anyway.

Going to live with the issue for a couple of weeks and get it swapped via AppleCare rather than the store.
 
Well I still havent opened mine up yet, was in apple store yesterday and tried the phone out, personally I dont think its worth the upgrade over my old 5 so I'm contemplating sending it back for a full refund.
