I really miss iOS and the build quality.

This sort of statement often has me puzzled. Simply because something is housed in plastic rather than metal or vice-versa is not a criteria by which to judge build quality. An OS likes or dislikes is a subjective call.

I have found the Galaxy to be well constructed and reliable. I don't expect it would be less or more reliable if the housing was metal.

Wise decision, even if you decide not to go with the 6, you will end up paying less for the 5s (assuming you don't have one already).

I was planning on doing this. Don't really want nor need anything as big as even the 4.7" iPhone 6, let alone the rumoured 5.5" version but figured I'd wait until it was launched then pick up a 5S on the cheap.

As it happens, I've just bought a 5S 32GB. Used but mint condition and only a few months old with the balance of the warranty remaining.

Reckon I got a decent deal at £395. Whilst prices of the 5S may well be affected by the 6 launch, it all depends on what Apple do with the 5S. If they discontinue it completely or just keep one or two low-end models then remaining stock of other models could hold their value reasonably well.

It also stops me waiting then seeing a 6 and going "ooh shiny" and succumbing lol :D

Currently have the 5 and would really like the superior camera and finger print recognition of the 5S.

I tried the Nexus 5 for a few months and the size of it didn't work out for me. It was just too big for my liking. So the notion of a bigger iPhone doesn't appeal either.

I will wait for the 6 to arrive though, and if I decide I don't like it, I'll wait for a decent 5S deal. I like the gold one :)

Perhaps you could ask Jacques Peretti - the men who made us spend!

This was a fantastic documentary and it does make you stop and think.

Still doesn't stop me wanting stuff though

That's the rub though I suppose i.e. 'wanting' rather than needing. There was no getting away from the fact that Apple are masters at making consumers 'want' something.

Having said that the documentary made it clear that most successful businesses make us 'want' products, even when we don't need them. A bit depressing in a way as it showed how easily manipulated people are. Not me of course!

Yep Bloomberg confirmed September 9th.

Also.

September 9th people

It depends what you read, according to certain analysts 'familiar with the matter[tm]' theres going to be delays due to 'production issues'.

Rule of thumb for me is, only believe it when Apple announce something. But Sept 9 seems feasible based on past years. Heres hoping :]

I think it would be available to order a week after the event, with launch late September/early October.

Couldn't pre order the 5s, really hope that doesn't happen again don't like the idea of queueing up for a phone nor waiting 1 month for a phone i want right away.

Got my 5 they day it hit orange stores and will probably do the same again this year. Sure last one was released 25th sept. Need a new one as somehow my case has managed to bend on one side.

I was an avid apple user but apple has now become SSDD with there new devices.
if its just going to be a slimmer, lighter iphone 5s then whats the point.
Everyone raves about the phone having better performance and it will be faster, so what? its a phone!
ill be sticking with the iphone 5s and not running to the apple store on launch day.

I started with a 3gs, then upgraded to a 4s, now upgraded to a 5s.... I see a pattern here  Will prob wait for the 6s.

Hm... what? That's not what it's going to be really, at all.

In my opinion, this will be the biggest and most significant release of an iPhone since the original.
