Delivery date came up as 2nd october for me on a space grey 64gb plus so i reserved one at my local apple store and selected a time slot.

I ordered one for delivery but will call to see if they can change it so i can pickup in store. Forgot you could do this

I hope that on the 19th it switches to this system, it was the only way you could buy a iPad Mini with retina display when it was quietly released in shops. I think it's a good idea to stop the scalpers. No registered apple ID = no sale.

Not sure what the apple messed up but I could not get it working at all on my Mac and the misses had no luck on her iPad, tried Chrome/Safari/Apple store app. Finally tried my Nexus 5 and after a bit we got our orders. Space grey for me and gold for her.

We did it early (8:00 - 8:45 ish). I think certain models and colours started to run out of stock then.
