Really not all that impressed with the battery so far.

Went to bed on 20% yesterday, my HTC One m7 would have been on 45-50%.

Whatsapp seems to be the main killer, I lose 1-2%% every 5 messages or so. Streaming with google music is terribly inefficient (lost about 8% with 30mins of streaming).

I would have expected it to be at least on par with my m7.

Anyone else having these problems? Is it worth exchanging?

I can never understand people saying stuff like this.
You went to bed and it was on 20%, meaning it had a fifth of it's battery left (roughly). It lasts the full day, so when you go to bed, put it on charge. It will then last you through the next day. What's the issue?

Yesterday it died at about 10pm. I was at home so it wasn't a massive problem but if I go out straight from work then it will not last.

If this is how it's supposed to be then I guess there's not much I can do. I was just wondering whether or not my phone could have a faulty battery.

To be honest, I'd expect it to be at least as good as my old phone which has a battery that is well over a year old. In a years time I doubt my battery will last till 1pm.

Yet it manages to match and even surpass the HTC One in benchmarks.

I haven't read any reviews on the phone until that but seems a well balanced and thought out review. Cosnidering I have order a 6 then it is good to see it donig well against the competition. Had to laugh reading "AppleCrappleHater2" comments, I mean with name like that I expected such a balanced argument. The points raised are good points I just can't take it seriously when presented with such hatred.

One thing touched on in the review though is pixel density, I have only had a brief look at a 6 but if pixel density it high enough that under normal conditions you cannot make out the individual pixels I cannot understand a reason for wanting a higher density.

One thing I've noticed when it comes to the crazy Android fan boys hating on Apple; all they care about is specs. It's all about clock speeds, amount of RAM, pixel density, resolution etc. They don't take into account how efficient iOS actually is.

I believe you can just about notice the difference between the 6 and 6+ screen, but it's nowhere near clear cut enough for me to want the 6+ over the 6.

But yes, on such a small screen, pixel density should really be the least of people's concerns when it is at a standard where you can't see pixels at normal viewing distance.

Which is entirely fair.

You buy a product, use it, and then demand all of your money back? :p

I agree, I was just curious if people planning to return a used phone were aware of it.

Pretty sure restocking fees are illegal in the UK? Maybe that's only if you buy online though.

They used to be under DSR, and they don't call them that under the new regulations (CCR), it is referred to as a deduction. The guidance says:

You have a right to deduct monies from refunds where goods show signs of unreasonable use leading to diminished value. You cannot usually deduct for removal of packaging to inspect the item, but you can deduct for damage or wear and tear where the item has not just been checked but used.

If you buy from Apple (retail store or online) you can open and use it and have 14 days to return for a full refund, no restocking charge.

No quibble returns policy it seems from reading their T&Cs. Impressive but easily abused, but of course that's Apple's prerogative.

Having checked the apple availability page numerous times over several days i've not once seen a 64gb 6+ in stock anywhere, let alone my closest store. Is there just a big shortage in supply?

I returned the 6 for 6+ and just chatting to the Apple chap about swaps/returns said he does the same, try and swap he changed his 5s twice colour/size before he settled on his final config. I felt bad having to return my 6 though as there were no issues with it!

Got mine from GiffGaff. Sim free (Does not lock to first sim inserted either).

They seem to be getting stock every day.

You can choose from buying outright or 'on the drip' over 6-24 months.

Got my 64gb and the wifes 16gb from there.

Next day delivery as well.

My order is still 21st-28th October, feels so far away.. :( :p

Very briefly the 64GB 6+ was available in white, but had went by the time I logged in. :(

Got it! Sim transferred a crossed but need to get home to get my back up across and I am done. I only log on to check stock last night and now I have a phone lol

Battery life is far better on the 6+ compared to the 5, I'd usually have to recharge around about 3pm every day but now don't need at all during the day and that is despite me probably using the phone a lot more if anything.

Also massive improve on battery when the phone is locked, my dads iPhone 6 only drops like 1% or 2% overnight whereas his 5 would usually go down by at least 10-15%. Don't know about mine because I usually leave mine on charge overnight.

Wish they would hurry up and release a 6+ version of WhatsApp.

I know, looks horrible on the 6+ right now, a few other apps don't look right but the app updates are filtering through very slowly.

what is the generally accepted procedure for when you first get the phone ?

Does the old advice of needing to putting it on a good long charge before use still apply ?

Or do you just use it ?

I left mine on charge as it had to do a fairly large iOS restore, which made it very warm :p but apart from that, I wouldn't worry too much

There's absolutely no need to do any kind of first charge procedure on the batteries of current phones. The older devices which needed it used a different kind of battery, which have been phased out now, and the ones we currently use don't suffer from memory effects or anything like that, as the previous types did.

So basically, charge it whenever you want/need, and don't worry :).

Battery tech now means u can use it right away, it makes no difference at all, I would just set it all up then put it on charge.

On another note I'm returning my iPhone 6, lovely hardware but iOS on a phone is just not for me. The Email experience for example is bad, I can't find anything as well down as the Gmail app on Android. Simple things like knowing which one of my email's something was sent too are messing, I just have a long list of notifications for everything.
