I just go sim only, its more expensive up front but you can get better deals on the sim and end up paying less over 24months. You also get 12month contractors so its much easier to jump around if something goes wrong with 1 network.

I did that with the iPhone 6, so it was £619 up front then 12*£10 which is much cheaper then any network for the sim deal I got, 10GB data, unlimited min, text. But its a much higher up front cost.

I'm considering the Plus but I'm concerned about not being able to use it one handed.

I had a HTC One M8 (5 inch screen) before my current iP6 and struggled to use it with one hand when it had a case on. I *could*, but just barely.

I expect it'll be even worse with the Plus...?

Has anyone seen if it's likely that Apple will have the reservation system again? That would be ideal as I'm off on the 25th anyway (birthday).

SIM only is the best way to go, done it for every iPhone release as although it's a cost up front, the deals you can get on contracts mean you save money over the long term. I haven't paid more than £12 a month for a contract in 5 years. Compare that with the £30-40 + £100-150 up front fee some people pay to get the phone and it's crazy :o

These are my figures that I've just put together, based on the iPhone 6 pricing taken today:

6S Purchase (all prices for 64GB Space Grey iPhone 6, allowances in data/minutes/texts)

EE 6 - £199.99 + 24*£44.99 = £1279.75 (4GB/U/U)
EE SIM - £619 + 24*£20.99 = £1122.76 (4GB/U/U - 12 month)
EE SIM - £619 + 24*£23.99 = £1194.76 (4GB/U/U - 30 day)

EE 6 - £189.99 + 24*£44.99 = £1269.75 (2GB/1000/U)
EE SIM - £619 + 24*£16.99 = £1026.76 (2GB/2000/U - 12 month)
EE SIM - £619 + 24*£19.99 = £1098.76 (2GB/2000/U - 30 day)

O2 6 - £169.99 + 24*£44 = £1225.99 (5GB/U/U)
O2 SIM - £619 + 24*£19.54 = £1087.96 (4GB/U/U - 12 month)
O2 SIM - £619 + 24*£23.80 = £1190.20 (5GB/U/U - 30 day)

3 6 - £99 + 24*£48 = £1251 (4GB/U/U)
3 SIM - £619 + 24*£21 = £1123 (4GB/U/U - 12 month)
3 SIM - £619 + 24*£24 = £1195 (4GB/U/U - 30 day)

3 6 - £99 + 24*£54 = £1395 (U/600/U)
3 SIM - £619 + 24*£22 = £1147 (U/600/U - 12 month)
3 SIM - £619 + 24*£25 = £1219 (U/600/U - 30 day)

Definitely got some decisions to make. My total call time and data usage since 24th October 2013 is 16 hours, 5 minutes and 7GB. Most of those are probably calls TO me as well, so it's not like I need the minutes. Nor, it seems, do I need the data :D

Last year the online store launch stock was gone within an hour, although you could reserve store allocation for pickup very easily. I reserved one at 11pm for collection at a pre-determined time on the launch date.

That's the way I do it, I'm on 3 sim only £18pm 600min unlimited data and texts, I normally sell my previous phone( I always keep it in excellent condition) to get my new phone, usually costs between £200-250 but this year I'm going to have to pay the full £620 as I'm giving my iPhone 6 to my daughter.

Can you remember how you got £18pcm for those allowances? As per my figures above, they're charging £22 now...

Did the store reservation go online at the same time as online purchases?

I seem to remember the store reservation system getting activated closer to the release date? Could be wrong though.

Who's pre-ordering what?

I'm going for a 6S+ 128GB in Space Grey with a leather Midnight Blue case and matching dock.

I expect my choice with be pretty popular with other pre-ordering fanboys though!

6s+ 64 or 128GB in Gold, I think... I do tend to prefer black (well, grey) but just fancy a change really.

I'll get a case when I can see them in person.

iPhone 6 Space Grey 64GB I think, I shouldn't need 128GB.

I'll try and get online at 8am tomorrow. Will be a great upgrade from my iPhone 5 32GB where the power button has stopped working and the battery is a bit messed up.

I wasn't sure whether to wait and get a new contract or just buy it outright and then find a contract later.
