Yeah, can get one for about £2 off the bay that just does simple headphone adapting. I bought a Monster iSonitalk to be able to have handsfree functionality too, it's not too obtrusive but still more cumbersome than just having the headphones.

Slide it from 3.9, so 4.6 is highlighted (in blue).

..and there's a setting at the bottom that you are required to do before flashing.

To be honest it's all very straightforward.

Does running boot neuter wipe anything off the phone like programs and contacts? Or is it a case of just run it and you're done and all is well in the world once again?

It doesn't touch the data partition, it's purely a bootloader alteration.

In fact, once it's done, you can uninstall BootNeuter from Installer.

It doesn't matter if you have fake blank on.. it's useful if your wifi gets buggered up.. but that's quite rare anyway.
