My iphones on the way, 32gb 3GS, and I want to insure it, the only trouble is finding a reasonable insurance company.
I'm pretty terrible with dropping phones so accidental damage with a low excess is my main worry. Don't mind paying up to a tenner a month.

Anyone care to recommend a good company?

I have an iPhone and my insurance is with 02, £7.50 a month. Covers theft etc. but doesn't cover faults

Vodafone iPhone insurance is £12.99. Are you sure your insurance plan on o2 covers your iPhone?

Might be best to look at your home content insurance or with your bank.

They don't look bad, I'm looking for iPhone insurance too but they only cover UK purchased phones. Any idea if there's anyone that'll insure ones bought from the States?

Vodafone want me to pay £12.99 per month for my wifes IPhone. I pay £30 per month for my house & contents with accidental damage and away from home cover!! Oh and £40 per month for a £20k car!!

You may find it difficult to find an insurer prepared to cover an iPhone purchased in the states. If you live in the states try SquareTrade.com as most insurers in the UK will only cover iPhones purchased in the UK.

Regarding loss this was covered by many iPhone insurance providers until about 3 months ago, but I was recently informed from someone who works in the industry that loss was dropped from the iPhone policy due to the high volumes of fraudulent claims.

You could try Insurance4Mobiles or iProtect they both offer cheap cover for mobile gadgets.

you are probably less likely to claim for house / car than you are for the phone.

12.99 is a total rip off, i pay that much to get a plus account with my bank which comes with free mobile insurance (loss, theft, accidental damage, water and liquid damage, electrical and mechanical failure and unauthorised calls).

But that also includes global family travel insurance and preferential rates plus a dozen other things that come in handy.

Phone insurance is a big money maker, yes the risk is higher but you're paying £150 every year which is almost what i pay to insure my entire home and possessions.

My point exactly. Complete rip-off!

Think about how flimsy the iphone is compared to your home or your car?
It's likely to break at some point, likely to be stolen as they sell in pawn shops for a good whack and are much easier to steal by an oppurtunists.

Iphones are expensive phones and very high risk.

I mean I pay £1400 a year for car insurance, third party. I got quoted more than a cars worth many a time. Because I was high risk being young, it's just how insurance works unfortunately. High risk = high premuim.
If I was paying £120 a year on a car wortn £500 i'd be ecstatic.

Anyways it's not like people are gonna go without insurance, you've gotta be mad to get a phone worth over £500 and then leave it to chance, even if you're severely delicate with phones.
