Interesting post at MacRumors...

http://www.macrumors.com/2013/01/20/apple-rumored-to-debut-4-8-inch-iphone-math-in-june/

Speculating that Apple are going to release an iPhone with a 4.8" screen. I would be interested in this as I run a rMBP, iPad Mini and a Note 2.

I only use the Note 2 as it has such an epic screen size and using an iPhone now just feels to small. I would be tempted back to the iPhone if they made a larger Pro type model.

What do you guys think?

Awful name.

Mathematics or Maths, not Math. Stop it Apple, just... stop... it...

edit - just read it's probably a translation from "Plus" which makes more sense.

Maybe not as Apple are losing ground to the bigger phones. It is the main reason I moved to the Note as the iPhone 4S at the time was to small for me.

I think Apple could move to a 3 iPhone model system. Low end and a split high end.

I was wondering about the resolution of it. If they're going for a cheaper option then it will probably stay the same at 1136x640 but with a lower ppi, hence it may not be classed as "retina".

Is it just me that will be very surprised if they release a new phone in June?

Previously it has been a minimum of a year between releases, give or take a fortnight. So September 21st- June is too short a cycle...

Did you not see the iPad3 to iPad4 release? :p

Wonder if all the iDefenders will say a big screen is the most revolutionary thing to happen to smart phones since Apple invented the idea? Will the Note still be "too big"?

I don't mind if they offer a big screen version, but if they stopped offering a small screen I might have to think again. 4 / 4S format is perfect for me. I've been out of contract for 10 months now because I really don't like the size of the 5.

After using the 4" on my iPod touch 5th gen, I can't bear the 3.5" screen now. :D

Last time the idea of Apple making a larger screen came up I was against it as I prefer a smaller device. However, I was recently talking to a friend of mine who got reading glasses last year and now wishes he had a phone with a larger screen to make it easier to read.

I can see how there will be a greater market for larger devices as we age. Regardless of innovation it may be something that needs to be done as none of us are getting younger!

It's not that I don't like looking at a bigger screen, but it just feels too big in the pocket.

If I'm at home I'm using the ipad, at work I'm using a desktop, and on the phone I usually use the reader view where possible, so a bigger screen just isn't that useful to me.
