iPhone questions

Walked into the apple store at 6:30, anyone who walked into the shop got applauded - gaaaay! they were trying to create an atmosphere - but where was it! Virtually no queuing, iphone available on ebay, iphone already released for 6 months in the US and better phones are on the market.

Well aren't we a little ray of sunshine?!

Why have they put the IMAP button on there twice?

:p

If only the touch had bluetooth, it would be one of the best gadgets ever.
Chance'd be a fine thing. Even the iPhone barely has bluetooth - the only thing you can do is attach a headset. No sending files, no receiving files, no use as a modem. Just woeful, really.

Can't say I wasn't expecting it to not be crazy.

I went to the Brent Cross store in London and people started counting down at 10 seconds and went 2 seconds too fast so they cheated!

A line of up maybe almost 100 people got cleared up really fast, there was a carphone warehouse two steps away, and an o2store and another CWH really close by and they were almost empty, but had a few people.

That makes it totally useless to me, i use my n95 and my old k750 to access the net with my laptop all the time. These days without bluetooth is just totally unacceptable.

Got one sat in front of me, first impressions :

1) Too heavy

2) Too big

3) Camera is pants

4) Screen gets real messy, real quick

Not a fan to be honest. N95 > *

I am sure they'll eventually open it up..slowly... like feeding sour candy to a baby.
Fixed...

Just like they have the ipod?!? :p. Apples track record shows that if they can charge for something or bring out a new generation where a firmware update is all thats needed they will - the iphone isnt going to be a different proposition...

The SDK will be officially released in Feb - ie it will be opened up (or far more open than now).:p

Its going to be funny when I see the first person around with one. Boasting about it.

Then I kindly tell them why the phone is pretty much useless as a phone.

N95 8GB is a much better alternative.

I think people are getting a bit carried away when saying it's useless as a phone. It's almost becoming fashionable to NOT like it.

Exactly. I've got an N95 and an iPhone, both are great devices but for different reasons. Web/email is far better on the iPhone, but the N95's camera is 10000 times better.

But heres the thing

If you were even remote serious about email on the move and internet, then you probably wouldn't have the iphone as its not the best at that by a long long way.

Oh please - dont use that excuse...

The iphone just doesnt cater for the European market, Apple havent considered it or even equated to give us a product suitable for our needs. The things that it doesnt do arent superfluous extras but something thats been a standard to expect as a minimum for at least the last 3 years...

Why do people feel they have to defend a product thats pretty much incomplete and forces you to change the way you work. If I buy a product I expect it to fit into my life and how I want to use it not the other way around...

Ive made my thoughts clear by not buying it - I just hope the people that have bought it have the gumption enough to start voicing their opinions as a valued Apple customer if they arent completely happy, in an endeavour to improve their purchase...
