Is it still a piece of objet d'art that's 3 years out of date technologically?

Maybe Apple will allow people to send SMS to more than one person simultaneously (a novel concept I know) in a firmware update in the dim and distant future.

Phone comes with 1.1.2 firmware too in the UK which presumably fixes the TIFF exploit that makes unlocking/jailbreaking possible. I guess you guys at O2 are going to have quite a few people coming back in when they find they can't unlock it as soon as they get home.

Can you forward texts?

Nope, doesn't look like it, or send pic messages, can only send pics via email

Can you connect via 3g?:p

EDGE sucks :( too slow.

You never know, they have been constantly working on little things to improve it, but not heard anything about multiple people, but cant be done yet :(

Saw one today at work as one of the blokes had got it when he went to America was flashing it around. Unfortunately I couldnt bite my tongue as I asked exactly the same questions as you have above where he kept saying 'Oh its ok I dont send picture msgs - I can send it by email' and so forth...

Im amazed that people accept to pay a premium for a product that forces them to work in a different way using technology that is so old...

I shake my head at anyone whose bought one as Id be embarrassed to have one myself (just like a nokia 8800) - whats the point of being an early adopter of new things that do nothing in terms of progressing technology. I accept that its easy to use, but that itself isnt groundbreaking...

Only thing Im jealous about is the touchscreen usage - having the ability to detect and deal with two points is rather useful for a lot of applications...

ps3ud0

Pretty good, you can zoom in using your finger and thumb and then move the page around in enlarged view.

Only problem is the speed of the data internet, wi-fi is good though :)

To be honest, it is just an iPod touch with a ****piece phone bolted on really isn't it?

I think i'd rather stick to having the iPod and a K850i, which actually works well as a phone.

In fact, the only thing it can do that the touch can't, is send texts, make calls and connect to the net without wi-fi...

So how is the bluetooth on it? Works well as a modem to other devices? Dood at work got a iGay Touch, such a heap of junk.

Only got audio bluetooth, so cant send files etc...

Not tried any of the iphone software on my PC yet.

Actually I'm really surprised how quick EDGE is and the whole web experience on an iPhone is far better to that of my N95 thanks to the UI. We did a test at work and in the time it took me to enter the URL 'www.autosport.com' on the N95 it was already entered and loaded on the iPhone. The speed and ease of use of the UI more than makes up for the lack of a couple of extra seconds saved by 3G. If you're planning on downloading large files with your phone then obviously this is when you might get annoyed but for web browsing the iPhone is much quicker in real terms than anything else I have used.

Noes! Don't say that! I just said in the other iPhone thread I wasn't going to get one, now I'm tempted again. :o
