All I want is a phone I can text people on.
So why spend £270 + Contract?

To some people it is. Why are you lot so bothered about the iPhone if you don't want it? Is it because you can't afford it or something?
I think the answer to that is somewhere in this excellent blog entry[TW]Fox;10462832 said:So why spend £270 + Contract?
Firstly, typing's fine, been using my touch for a couple of weeks and that's not a problem.
2ndly, the forwarding texts, multiple recipients etc I'm expecting in a firmware update, and if not I'm fairly sure there'll be an app to do it from somewhere.
Thirdly, MMS I've no interest in If it was up to me it wouldn't even have a camera. Never understood why you'd want a camera on a phone anyways.

p.s. alos, like Fox said, if you just want a phone to make calls, why pay so much for this phone that is "more than a phone" and missing a few fundamental common features ?
Like I've just said, because I want a phone AND my touch for wifi browsing. An iPhone is both.
Exactly. I've got an N95 and an iPhone, both are great devices but for different reasons. Web/email is far better on the iPhone, but the N95's camera is 10000 times better.

Infact I've currently got 7Gb of Music on my phone. Guess what, I can also text more than one friend at once as well, and I can send things over Bluetooth!
Does it have the touch screen? I'd never have used the net on a mobile device without it. Tried PDAs, the DS and a PSP. All were unusable to me. The touch however is a joy.
(the internet app is almost reason alone to get an ipod touch).
The current iphone is pants.. i'd find it hard to believe Apple will be sorting these issues out with a firmware release.
We have a good, rational post, then we have that one.![]()
Fox, do you know where you can get the N95 8Gb free on a £35 p/m tariff?
Why the hell would anyone buy an N95 , aweful aweful phone, o2 XDA Orbit is where its at, it does all and more than the N95, and it actually has a battery life AND if you so like install the free 'iphone' skin that makes it behave more or less like an iphone. Free on a £35 month contract
