Hi all!

I need to take my iPhone for repair as it's completely inoperable. The thing is it has some rather intimate photos on of my better half!!!? What is apple's policy of privacy, is it water tight? I mean I assume this must happen often with computer and phone repairs!

I think they wipe it by default anyway?

Won't it power up if you plug it in to wipe it?

Regardless, if they see them or not obviously you don't want them to but people have seen her naked before, and probably will after you, just send it off and claim ignorance if she asks anything :p

Damn shame you don't have them backed up though eh ;)

Unfortunately it got wet so it's doing precisely nothing! And thanks guys, your 'assurances' have led to me deciding to smack the crap out of this one and buy a new one off ebay tonight! I'm the jealous type ;-)

Probably best off not asking apple, otherwire they may pay special attention to your phone! :p

Don't smash it up, send it to me, I could use it for spares! ;)

You're insane! Chances are its a full wipe, it generally is with these types of things. More money than sense if you're willing to just write it off! :p

Take it in for repair but wear a white coat and stethoscope. Have a gynaecological instrument of some sort in your top pocket. Sign yourself as 'Dr. Meady100'. Tell them there is confidential patient information on the phone. There!

In all seriousness you could do something like this, unless you look about 12 or something. Go in (white coat optional) and say your phone is borked, you're a doctor of some sort and it has confidential information on it and ask how they deal with that - they can't mess about with it if it is genuinely that kind of data so they must have some kind of procedure...

The guys repairing these probably repair loads per day and haven't got time to be trawling through the files that you had stored on it. If they were caught looking at such material at work I'd imagine they would get fired, so don't worry about it and go get it repaired.

LOL.

"Don't press the big red button".

If someone told me not to look, I'd want to know why. If someone didn't mention it, I wouldn't have time to go out of my way.
