People moan about the Iphone Camera. Its actually ok. Its certainly not bad but then Im not looking for a 5MP (pointless) camera in my phone, I have a digital SLR and thousands worth of camera kit for that.
UI means everything. If the user interface is good, it means a more satisfying experience for the user. This is what Apple have nailed down. They truly have set a standard that nobody will match for a long long time.
Another point that people choose to ignore is that this thing is a FULLY functional Video iPod Touch. Show me another phone that comes close to this level of Media Player functionality and I will be impressed. And im talking usability here too not just features. Any phone can play an MP3 or two, but the layout/Usability of the app is important as well.
Nobody else comes close on web browsing. Its more than just being about the browser, its the way you interact with it. The touchscreen and On-screen keyboard are excellent for this. I can quite happily read and post on forums etc. I wouldnt want to do that on an N95.
Email is the same. The App is probably no different to Email on a Nokia or Sony, but the interaction via Touch Screen and Keyboard is the differentiator. The Email app is also integrated with other apps, so I can take a picture with the iPhone and tap to email it to a contact for example.
16GB of storage space too. Is there even another phone on the Market that comes with this out of the box? I bet they are few and far between.
Phone manufacturers are all about adding millions of features but they have all missed a point that Apple have capitalised upon. Features are for nothing if you dont have a good Interface into them. Thats what the iPhone is all about.
Yep, we dont have GPS. But then I used google maps over GPRS/EDGE to navigate my way around London with no issues. So for foot travel the iphone is fine.
To me, User Interface is king and apple have knocked the spots off every other phone out there in this department. Third party apps fill the rest of the gaps quite nicely
