As far as I'm aware, the software is the same for both versions - the v2 software betas that have already been cracked apparently contain the drivers for the 3g chipsets when it was stripped to bits.I personally think it will be hard to unlock this version. Apple and 02 will have learnt from their mistakes, and you will have no choice but to sign up to a contract in store.
Pay as you go, problem solved! Doubt apple would be likely to get much revenue out of PAYG sales (if any at all). So they probably wouldn't be bothered whether it went O2 PAYG or was unlocked - could mean a bit of a price hike from £269 though!Im not doubting that the software is unlockable but the fact is you won't be able to get your hands on it without a contract therefore eliminating the point of it being unlockable.
I guess it is all speculation and hopefully tomorrow we will find out.

Yeah I meant if they force you to sign a contract in store I meant.
PAYG will be exceptionally priced. I would expect it to be around £6-700. Usually are for new releases on PAYG.
I'll be looking elsewhere if that's the case
I know what you mean.
Personally, holding on to my iPhone, I think was a good move. The chances of it being more restrictive with the v2 means mine should hold its value.
I know Justin sold his for around £250 iirc.
Yup that's right, although they reason I sold it before the release was because I reckon that after tomorrow the V1s are going to be going for peanuts on eBay.
