iPhone V2 speculation...

I'll be annoyed if they make you sign a contract in store. I know it's not very honest but they either get business from me just buying an iPhone and no contract or nothing.

Yeah thats a major concern of mine now :(

I'm happy to pay the £269 (I know this was the old price) and walk out with the handset

Wow, its been awhile, good to be back in the fold.

Can't wait for a new iPhone, I don't think I will be upgrading straight away, have a stack of student debts to pay off. :(

Does anyone know whats happening with existing customers yet?

I read an article about it being a free upgrade which I highly doubt, or a £50 to £100 upgrade fee

Either would be great, first being the better of course, just wondered what the real situation is

White is apple but I'd be worried that it would show the dirt or marks to much....

Black would do me, however what ever it turns out to be i'll be buying one lol

Took this from the telegraph newspaper online

"As part of the shake-up, which is designed to help Apple shift 10m iPhone handsets globally this year, O2 is expected to offer the first pay-as-you-go version of the iPhone, and to force contract customers to sign up to the network before leaving stores with the phone"

So you could just buy a "pay as you go" and walk out with the handset too then?

"Apple also wants to prevent contract customers "unlocking" the iPhone for a small fee at specialist mobile phone shops and inserting the SIM card from their existing provider into the handset"

cant really see the point of the iphone on pay as you go. one of its main gimmics is the fact its a fantastic internet phone and that is something I wouldnt spend my money on if it was not included in my contract. Top ups simply don't go far enough.

I'm sure they'd realise that and offer a certain amount of free internet if you top up by x per month.

Most payg operators already seem to be advertising payg with unlimited facebook etc access.
