iPhone V2 speculation...

I'm fairly certain that most stores have them in stock. A lot of people are reporting that they have called local stores and they say they have them instock. Could be just another stunt to increase sales.

I don't think it's a stunt, the 2 stores in sheffield were out of stock today. Only Meadowhell stores had them in, my housemate managed to get hold of one.

It's hardly surprising, 8gb isn't a lot space.

When the new iPhones come out, I can see the 16gb dropping down to £269, making way for a 32gb version to slot into its place, which will obviously be 3G.

a quick question, I have seen iphones on the bay with sellers stating in their auctions that despite the phone's being unlocked they are still under warrantee, this is a lie is it not?

Warranty lies with apple doesn't it?

It may be partly true depending on where it was bought. Some people have bought iPhones, unlocked them, taken them back and got it exchanged. I think EVH has done this a few times if I'm not mistaken.

Other places, such as the CPW, will send you straight to Apple for the repair process. So, sort of a warranty.

I rang Cambs O2 the sarvo and they said they still had stock, gunna take a spin in tomorrow and see if i can grab one for the missus before its all over :/

What do you think they are up to? The 8GB iPhone seemed to be selling really well, it seems strange for them to just EOL it, they keep their lower capacity iPods around or at least drop the price of the higher ones to fill the place. I'm wondering if Apple are seeing that the competition is gaining on them in terms of lower prices and 3G availability and have decided to take action with a revision 2 model.

I must admit the current £35 deal that O2 do with the iPhone is pretty good and well worth the outlay but the phone is just too good as a standalone on any contract to simply justify going official and not jailbreak / unlock it.

Addmittedly i unlocked my iPhone wanting to go back to vodafone and give the O2 contract to the wife but soon as O2 changed the tarrif vodafone couldnt even come close to what O2 was offering so im still using the O2 tarrif and the missus is currently going without :P

Still regardless of any contract a jailbreak / unlock is pretty much a has to be done thing :D

Here's hoping they have stock in the morning ....

damn... the day after i get interested in the iphone, discover its stupidly easy to unlock it and not pay for the o2 contract, and generally have the amount needed they've all gone!

omg if that's true then i'll definately be buying it... only question is will TomTom/Garmin come to IPhone?
I'd only use it for walking as I've got Sat Nav in my car. 3G + GPS on Google Maps would be unbelievably good! Far too easy to get lost around London...

I thought the whole point of the recessed socket was to make it less easy to break when fumbling around for the phone?

I don't care much for 3g, but if there is a GPS and it works out well then I'll almost definitely be flexing my wallet for one.

I don't think they will change it too much, add 3G, maybe GPS, bigger capacity and better camera. Think Apple will milk the iPhone for as long as possible and not change it too much, its starting to sell well now.

With the SDK coming out, if the V2 was changed dramatically then would software developers not need to write 2 versions of their software one for V1 and V2 iPhone?
