iphone vs LG Viewty

I always thought the LG Viewty was a womans phone... dunno why... I'd have a iPhone personally... but the novelty wears off quick.

New iPhone tarriffs start on the 1st so hold off if you can.
e.g. £35 goes from 200&200 mins/text to 500/600 on the 1st of Feb

My Girlfriend has a viewty and i have an iphone.

The viewty isnt a bad phone if you want a 5mp camera, thats the only good thing i can say about it :D

I dont like her viewty at all, the screen is so unresponsive compared to an iphone and it really irritates me using the viewty for that reason alone.

If you can live with the iphones downfalls then get one, the novelty hasnt wore off for me at all :)

I have a viewty, if you dont need the camera and are not going to want to browse the web using 3g then get an iphone :)

how much is a second hand viewty worth?? obvuiolsy ill sell this one if i get the iphone lol.

anyone think the price will ome down anytime soon?

Yup about £175 sounds about right... Seen some in the local paper for as low as £120!!! I think eBay is your best bet though.

had a blast of a viewty the other day, cant believe how bad it is compared to my iPhone, its just so unresponsive, the only thing it has in its favour is its better camera, which I never use anyway.

i couldnt use a viewty as a phone, its horrible, the interface is clunky and unresponsive, the web browser isn't as fully featured as it should be and touchscreen just isnt as good.

How odd.

My viewty is fantastic.....very responsive, menu systems are great and very easy to use. Its the best phone I've had up to now.

To all the guys with the viewty... do you use the stylus? Carrying round what looks like lipstick attached to your phone is the most metro thing I've ever seen on a phone. I loved the LG Prada - worked brilliantly - but then they broke everything that was good with the Prada in the Viewty. Get the iphone.

I think its a pretty good deal now the tariffs are changed but it depends on your usage.
The Cloud access is a massive bonus that most choose to overlook. Search your area on their website and you might be suprised by the number of cloud wireless hotspots. Most Mcdonalds have one for starters. Edge seems to be a bone of contention for most but with the amount of Cloud hotspots I dont see the problem. Use Edge for emails and IM and web browsing in a pinch and the wireless for the rest.

My only real concern with the iPhone, and the one thing keeping me from hitting "buy" on o2's site, is the nature of its closed platform. I hope this will change with the release of the SDK.
The bluetooth support or lack thereof is a serious issue as it apparantly only supports hands free :(

I went from an SE K800i to a Viewty, and I'm still toying with the idea od selling it and using my old phone.

It's OK, but not great. Signal is worse (same network), call quality seems worse, battery life is worse. The camera was one reason I got it. I've not viewed any images on my PC yet, but on the screen they look really crap compared to the K800i? There aren't many games for it, and I don't think you can add themes. There are a few things that are long winded compared to the SE too, like deleteing multiple messages.

I can't even work out how to alter the call volume! Maybe I should read the manual :D

Wish i went for the K850i now :(

Theres loads of games for it, just need to look in the right places. Themes cannot be added as such, but lots of settings can be changed.

My viewty seems to get slower the more I use it :/ Camera and call sound quality is pretty crap too. Only thing half decent is the fast internet on it imo.
