Yes it will. You may need to configure WAP on the phone itself. Not entirely sure.

Or just get the £25 tariff with the free web bolt-on and more minutes and texts :)

You won't get the visual voicemail.

sorry to hijack but if i got a tmobile or o2 PAYG sim and put that in, what features would i lose?

Visual Voicemail won't work on anything other than the official contracts, and T-Mobile has no EDGE coverage - this means that you'll only get GPRS (which is slow, and the Youtube feature doesn't work without EDGE or WiFi)

Otherwise it will work fine (although of course there's no guarantee that future firmware updates will be available to you)

Which PAYG sim would cover EDGE? I'd be looking at getting a new sim for it anyway but i was looking at the 02 simplicity plan, just worried about not using it to it's capacity etc.

The phone won't necessarily be 1.1.4, none of the 4 phones I know bought including myself had 1.1.4 in the past week.

There's debates whether to use WinPwn or ZiPhone, just get the latest version of either.

I would use Iliberty+ if your on windows and if your on mac use Pwnage tool. And as gumbald said don't assume your phone has the 1.1.4 firmware. I bought mine last Thursday and had problems using the Pwnage tool (it nees 1.1.4 to work) so I used itunes to restore to 1.1.4 and Pwnage worked so the first thing to do when you get the phone is to do a restore.

The only benefit is that you are putting it back to the way it was. There were some reports of people being unable to return phones due to the bootloader being incorrect.

If you took it back to a store though I can't imagine the average doofus in CPW or O2 even knowing what a bootloader was though, nevermind knowing how to check :)

Just for the record, mine was also 1.1.2, bought last week, pwnaged and up and running in a few mins :) It's so quick if I bought another I'd be tempted to take my laptop with me and pwn it in the shop there and then ;)
