Getting more and more tempted by one of these. So can you get the education discount in stores for the iPods? I contacted their online chat people and they said the education discounts dont apply to iPods.

Also, are the videos flash? FLV? Because my dissertation is using flv file formats. I also have an Apple store in Southampton i can get to.

You can't get a discount on iPods, nope.

Vids are .m4v, not even the Youtube ones are flash.

Hmm, thats a shame, so flash is a no go on it? Or are people working on getting these other sites working? Like youtube?

Yup, flash is a no go, you can access the H264 youtube vids fine though. Anything quicktime friendly should play fine over the web.

I don't know if people are working on getting flash to work or not tbh.

K this is doing my noodle in, but my Bro will be getting me one!

But could somone please workout what I will have to give him in cash to cover buying a 16GB touch from New york!?

Also, he doesnt now exactly where he might be in NY, I assume there are plenty of shops where you can get one, or does anyone recommend somewhere, or a chain!?

$390 = $190.... Quite a saving I think, I don't think he will have any trouble finding a shop that sells them

Not quite sure how he did it but he bought that instead of the iPhone !!!!!

Apparently he went on one of the big retailer stores websites saw what he thought was the iPhone (well it was around the right price he joked) went in and bought it, only when he got home did he realise he'd bought an mp3 player.

I don't think any of us have stopped laughing yet!!
