Finally got my iPod today courtesy of Virgin and my new phone contract. However, not having much luck....and the box was smashed, although I thought there was no damage to start with, the charging port on the iPod was squashed so couldn't charge it without some gentle persuasion, and when I did get it charged, the control buttons weren't working either which I've told Apple about

Just looked on the Apple site for ordering a replacement under warranty, and I must say I'm impressed that I've just got an email back saying they'll send out return packaging for me to use.

Have any other people on here had good luck with Apple support? How long does it usually take before getting an iPod back?

Apple replacement warrenty and speed always impressed me, they send the packaging to pick up and the courier to pick it up too at there expense.

Did have a bit of a fuss with a dead HDD for my Mac Pro but it was sorted with no extra cost to me.

I sent my iBook off once and got it back within days with a new CD/DVD drive - impressed!

They seem ok until it goes out of warrently. Basically my Mini went duff a month over warrenty and was definately not fit for purpose. Apple weren't interested and their CS staff sounded like robots reading from a script. I gave up writing them letters after getting nowhere. I did buy another from elsewhere but would certainly not buy direct from apple again thats for sure!

Well I sent my iPod to Apple as told to do so by Virgin, but I've just had an email from Apple saying that they are unable to repair or replace my iPod as accident damage or misuse was found. Ok this is fair enough, but this happened during transit from Apple!!!
Not sure what to do now or where I stand.

Can anyone help? I've sent emails to both Apple and Virgin but not sure where I stand.
