Hey,

Is there anyway to connect my ipod to windows media player? I have noticed some sofware called dopisp but would rather not pay for software.

Any freeware utilities out there?

Cheers,

Jon

I've always used iTunes since I got an iPod over 5 years ago. It was even easy to move the database and all the music from PC to Mac.

Set it up correct and it won't duplicate your music.

I last tried itunes around 7-8 months ago and have no desire to try it again, I'm more than happy with WMP. WMP for ME is a superior product, please get over it.

Please do find me posting "old cliches" other than in this thread.

Only recently got an Ipod, and I find SharePod works very nicely. It's nothing to do with WMP, but it's very easy to use, simple (but attractive enough) interface and does what I need.

It only does that if you set it up wrong. You can't blame a piece of software for user error/ignorance.

Could you tell me how to stop it duplicating my music please? As i tell it to get all the music i have from the same folder, and it somehow manages to find 2 of each album. I know for a fact there is only 1 of each in that folder, though.

Anapod Explorer used to be pretty good for getting iPod working well with WMP until Apple started encrypting the iTunes sync database on the iPods.... haven't heard much from them since that happened. Pity, as it was spot on and meant I didn't have to have any iTunes/Apple software near my computer.

I don't use an iPod any more now (thank god) so I get to use WMP without any of the assoicated grief that comes with syncing files to my portable media players.

ive used itunes for years now and cant say ive had any issues as long as you store your files correctly with the right album/artist/track number tags.

I'll give SharePod a go.

I only want something to switch on one a month and wack some tunes on my iPod. So far MediaMoneky is doing the trick nicely.

Irrespective of this I still do not like iTunes. Why duplicate music by default? Not a great design imo.

I don't understand apples need to lock these devices to a set piece of software. Imagine if Microsoft tried to do that.
