His life in the UK will never be the same again after this ordeal -Fact.

I'm not disputing that his life will never be the same but it doesn't just take the speculation of the media to get people speculating.

No, but it goes a heck of a long way.

I also do hope that this is the swift resolution to this case and the man is brought to justice. It will also be interesting to find out why the murderer (even if it is not this man) did these things, and how he was eventually caught, should give the police even more defence against this sort of thing in the future.

I agree but why bbc made the tapes availabe to the public, dont that jeopardize his chances of a fair trial if he had to go to court. I think it was a wrong move to let out those tapes. Maybe he shouldnt have given those interviews but i guess he had nothing to hide (he is still on bail)

Fair enough I suppose but you don't charge someone unless you are sure, especially with a case such as this.

Most certainly, but our country's courts are built on the assumption 'innocent until proven guilty'. He cannot be proved guilty until the trial begins. That'll be a long way down the line.

It also went a heck of a long way in getting appeals etc. out there in the first place which provided police with how much information?

Lawyers would have been consulted before it was released. Sky News even did a report about the implications of press involvement in this case when it gets to court the other day.

My mum's a medium ... she seems to be picking up a Black guy which could be involved and or just supplying the girls ie a pimp or contact. Will be interesting to see if she's right about a black/coloured guy.

edit : No matter will just wait n see ;)

LOL. Tell your mum to quit.

he could still be innocent - the police have made mistakes before - whopping great huge ones - thats why we need innocent til proven guilty.

i have to say that the media's attitude has been pretty bad at assuming guilt for both the people arrested - there should be stronger laws to stop the media reporting in this way - justice is far more important than a nosey gossip obsessed general public's 'need to know'.

Indeed, I do hope the police have got the right man :( They certainly found him very quickly, unlike with the 'Ripper' in the 1980s. That in itself makes me wonder whether they have made a mistake. I hope they went on more than the fact that he had been a 'customer' of all of the girls and (going by the media reports) by him being a little weird in some ways.

But just think of the way DNA testing and forensics etc etc have changed.
