iRacing

Yep, found the result and he did cross the 3.00 boundary, seemingly they've added a tooltip/question mark over the SR now to explain the bump if you hover the mouse over it, never seen that before.

Great. So this evening will be the first chance I've had to get onto iRacing this week, but first my car died on Tuesday so I need to fix that, means getting new tools so I'm browsing to find the closest place to get what I need and the 'internet' stops.

Turns out my homeplugs are what died, or one of them at least, so now I've got no internet access on my gaming rig. gah.

yep, works both ways,

I think the original aim was back before 'fast track' licence changes where you had to be above 3.0 at the end of the season (and going above 4.0 to race the next licence level up didn't give an automatic promotion), it was quite feasible that you'd end up just around the 3.0 mark and just a tiny thing would stop you from getting promoted, with the +0.4 bit it gives you some leeway

Back to 3.46 SR now.

That initial drop from just over 3.0 to 2.5 was a bit of a shock, but now I know how it works it only took two races and a TT to get back to over 3.0

Nice mate :D

I finally got my FFB sorted and am very happy with the results :D

However I now have setup my 3 screens but I cant seem to get it right, I made a post on the iracing forum for some help but thought someone here might have the answer for me? :D

Another race and another disconnection.

Annoying as I was running 8th after starting 12th and was on for another incident free race.

Virgin Media are a bunch of muppets. Never having them again, shame I've still got 16 months of my contract left.

Your not having much luck atm mate :-(

As for isp, consider yourself lucky u have a choice. I live in hull so only have one option :-(

Just did a bit more practicing this weekend as I was failing hard xD my mate did a Nascar daytona 100 lap race with ummm 24 people I think? 100laps..... not a single incident!!!! was a bit gutted to be fair :p kinda because if the leader pack wrecked my mate could have jumped up a few positions haha ;)

but they were using the draft and bumpdraft.... really well too! some sketchy close moments though

mx-5 roadster has improved my times a bit and spinning out a little less I think :D ...Time is still rubbish on the road track though :( like best time last night was 1:55 I think? like 10-15 seconds behind what my mate is getting lol :p still think it's just a few corners really letting me down with my breaking points and speed/line through the bend, just can't seem to get a decent one on some.

nice that ya got your wheel and surround vision on the go :D do you not overlap the monitors? i.e. overlap bezels on monitors so only one is showing? I have 2 screens and only game on one but I still overlap as the gap between two screens annoys me!!! really we need that 3-in-1 curved monitor xD

that sucks about the disconnects :( yeah I'm not a fan of virgin media. when I was trying to stream world of tanks a while back, they introduced a new throttling policy (yay....) where instead of limits between say 3pm-9pm, it was done hourly... and ofcourse.... by streaming my upload was hitting their hourly cap so I was getting throttled from my amazing 3mb upload to like 0.8mb....making streaming impossible and well... gaming/browsing pretty rubbish too :( so after much complaining and them telling me that everything is fine one guy said I was getting throttled on a new scheme. so that was the last straw.

now with plusnet and loving me ping of 10ms, 73mb down and 18mb up ;) no throttling... and in fact....they have traffic management but it just prioritises your traffic over your line.... so like voip and games are highest, then browsing, then torrents and p2p stuff :D

Have you tried using ispeed Sasso?

http://www.nessoft.com/ispeed/

The lap analyzer is great, bascially just run a few laps then put it in the analyzer and also load a lap from a guy who is a lot quicker and you can compare breaking points/strength, cornering and acceleration etc. Its a great tool tbh if you spend some time with it. Im hoping it will improve my times anyway :)

My best on Laguna Seca in the MX5 is 1:47, but that's in testing, in race I think its 1:49 so I have a lot of improving to do also :(

I must say though that moving to triple screens has helped, I find it much easier to hit corner apex

I haven't tried anything ;) but I'll give that a look after thanks! :D run a few laps? that's if I can actually get round the track cleanly a few times xD oh I'm not tooooooo far behind you then on time ;) still... that's a lucky lap... I'm usually off the track against a wall somewhere lol xD

ahh nice! yea apex hitting for me is hit n miss ;) with such a narrow view I either don't go over far enough or think I'm on a good line but actually gone too far over the apex :p

Look on the positive side, we can only get better :D:D:D

I am sure I can shave off 2/3 seconds off my best as I know where I am going wrong. That will put me in the 1:44 bracket which I think is very respectable (for me anyway lol).

The track changes to Summit Point tomorrow....just as I was getting used to Laguna as well :eek:

are you sure about that ;) I bet I can prove you wrong! haha!

track change? awww boo.. yea I actually remember the course corner for corner now too!!! :p does this mean the oval racing track changes too? (please something that doesn't require braking xD )

might just say hell with it and give a race on both tonight if it's changing tomorrow :p could be worse and even more off putting xD

Street Stock goes back to Charlotte so your good :)

Legends Oval Series (If you race them) goes to Thompson Speedway, I have never raced there before so Im looking forward to that one, I did really enjoy South Boston though, it was real seat of the pants racing :)

I think you should do it. Just take it steady :)

Watching replays of hot laps helps as well. Gives you an idea of braking points, turn in and acceleration points. And that a lot of the time you don't need to change gear as often as you think.

yay for charlotte!!! :D much more confident in that track :D

nah not tried the legends at all yet :)

come race with me? ;) haha (hold no responsibility for any changes to your SR :p )

yea I've sat in the waiting screen a few times and just watched some cars to see when they brake and turn and such (bit hard when not given the icons and can't notice any brake lights? o.O ), but my power of replicating the results are not so great :p had a guy help me on the oval track a bit telling me his run through the corner which helped me out a bit :) but I can't seems to keep it consistent :(

Whats the next RUF track Barmy (Iracing is down so I cant check)

Watkins Glenn boot.

With regards to spectating someone faster than you don't rely on this for braking points as it is never accurate. The best way is to watch YouTube video or direct replay.

Determined to get my road iraitng to 2k this week and can't wait for a non superspeedway truck week :)
