Just hit a 1:00.073 at limerock in the 12am mx5 cup race Im so close to breaking the minute now anyone fast in the mx5 give me any tips to get into the 59.s I feel turn 3 is where I can gain a bit of pace. Every other bend Im at the limit.

Found this training video from Team Redline really useful...

... although that-said, I'm still pretty slow at 1:00.531 :)

ok mate my set is on the forums any way, just ran a 14.8 with it but got a 1x at pohuon(spelling), it feels good and the pace is there, simons already into the 13s so i think 14s will be the pace to be on...

it gunna be a busy week i think...

i watched that race mate, i saw you had abit of a nightmare you seemed to be getting a lot of snap oversteer aswell...couple of the spins wasnt your fault either like the 1 approaching oak tree and a back marker messed you all up you touched the grass and went off...

Yeah, Spa is a lot 'easier' than VIRGE, plus the name means should be a good turnout, and looks like my weekend is free, and unlikely I'll get another great score so I'm sure I'll do a few :)

Yeah, mostly my own fault, had forgotten about the back marker though, from what little I saw he didn't do much wrong, just an awful place to come across someone slower. I'm sure the other 2 did brake earlier though which is what caused me to go off, but could've just been my attention elsewhere causing me to revert to my 'normal' braking marker rather than giving them room.

I was always getting a bit of snap oversteer, but I did find the set get more tail happy as the run went on, possibly just fuel but maybe tyre wear, I was using the original Stephen Grier one that Simon posted, didn't get on with the one after. It also didn't help that during one of my off-tracks I picked up some slight damage, made it understeer more to the left and oversteer slightly more to the right.

Anyway, next season I'll aim to do a better job there :p

Cool so you defo racing it next season??

I am defo, also might have a look at the new caddy if the numbers are high it got some awesome tracks its racing on...

Aye, still got loads to learn with the car, actually kinda like the low participation as there's now quite a few drivers that I 'know' and can race against rather than having to be wary (and some that I know to be wary with :p) :)

I might also dabble in another series or two as well, I feel with the Radical that I can now just 'get in and race' with very little practice so gives me some more time for something else, possibly the caddy like you say, the numbers will be high at least for the first week or 2, and depending on the promotion after that...

that last chicane is still getting the better of me..

yeah think i will do abit of oval aswell this season i should get promoted next time..

but the caddy is looking good to have a dabblr in...

Due to circumstances I had to drive a race today for the first time in two years without my Clubsport pedals (and with a non-FF wheel). It was literally a nightmare. Those pedals make a bigger difference than force feedback, at least that's what I thought after the race. If the Clubsport pedals at first seem a bit odd, just keep using them and soon you are pretty much unable to use anything else :)

yeah im looking forward to getting them, i dont think ill use them till next week to with it been the last week of the season and the radical is at spa, so its not the best time to be getting used to them so ill leave it till week 13 i think.

but i know what im like ill probably be using them tomorrow lol...

hmm im abit disappointed tbh...

tried them stock at first the brake pedal was way too soft for me, so changed it to 2nd hole(what a PITA my own fault but still) now theres no travel on the pedal.

they dont feel much better than my g27 pedals with nixim mod and bodnar lead.

and im so slow with them right now, i keep locking the brakes and im braking early...

I'm not that impressed really either i was expecting a big difference, i've been playing on them non stop since yesterday and cant get within 0.5 second of my best lap i have them as stock i've just adjusted the dial after hours of faffing i'll see how they go but i think i prefer my G25 pedals atm

Yeah I'd rather use my g27 pedals right now but I'm gunna give them some time..

What does that dial on the back actually do???

it adjusts how much force you have to apply to get full braking ive set it to about 50% when u first jump on the brakes then adding pressure gives it more force

ive messed with it abit, now and i found a spot im happy with, but im still half a sec off my normal times and i can figure out why im loosing time...

this is not good...

Aye Josh I'm not that impressed bye them yet, its just getting used to the brake pedal I think..

I'm still half a second slower aswell and I was on them for a good while last night..

It works on how hard you press it right???

I think that's the idea behind load cells yeah, from some of the stuff I'd read I honestly expected you both to be chuffed and to instantly be more consistent and possibly even quicker, odd to hear you have so many problems...

Be interesting to see if you can get used to them, I'm not overly bothered by the G25 brake and never have been but it is clearly the weak point of the/any pedals (with the exception of a FFB clutch pedal :p), load cell is supposed to 'fix' that

Yeah but the brake in my g27 pedals with the nixim mod felt near to the same as these csp's brake, the difference is that the load cell goes on force and the g27 goes on how far you press it or that's the way I think it is???

Im loving the feel of the radical but im miles off the pace. Felt quite happy when i cracked 2.19 at spa only to look at everyone else doing -2.15. Oh dear .

I think that using the clubsports take some getting use to. Your braking in a completely different way. It takes time but im sure that once your there you'll never part with them for g27's
