I had many years of great sim racing out of my DFP - the DFGT is a fine starter wheel. I'd recommend it over the F430. I think it'll have more consistent support in the future, will probably last longer, and Logitech are fantastic to deal with.

F430 feels nicer to drive (stiffer mechanism), has stronger feedback, better pedals and better paddles.

Only plus point for the DFGT is 900' rotation but it wasn't a clincher for me.

The DFGT pedals are truly horrendous and ruin the package.

Really looking forward to trying pedals with a load cell since everyone speaks so highly. Hopefully the gas pedal feels a bit stiffer as well since I think the G27 one is too light.

Finished putting together my Obutto R3volution cockpit today. It's built like a tank! Wanted it mainly as I get a bad back working at a PC or gaming, so hopefully this proves more comfortable plus it looks like something out of batman!

I keep looking at the Rseat Evo 3.

And the Fanatec Club Sport Wheel and the BMW rim

And the Fanatec Club Sport Pedals.

And adding another two monitors.

And Derek Speare matching button boxes.

At least I've got a shifter I'm happy with.

Well, if we're doing wishlists

Cockpit

Wheel, Ideally I'd like the Frex or ECCI 7000, but maybe the Fanatec club sport is more realistic

Pedals, CST's = want.

Button box, do want, but not at the frankly crazy prices people charge for them, actually got some bits ordered yesterday to do some experimentation with making my own, using an Arduino Leonardo as a base to start with (£12 off ebay) and then in theory it's just wiring and some software, total cost should be £20 or less for revision 1 which will be a basic 8-12 button test, then gonna try some multiposition switches/rotary encoder type inputs and some LED outputs...

I use paddles for shifting, easier

Oh, yeah, triples, got 3x 26" 1920x1200 monitors, which are quite nice, but clearly I 'need' to upgrade them to 3x 27" 2560x1440 ones...

If I didn't have a garage with cars in it, I'd make room for some kind of 'pod'.

I can't remember the name of the company but they make a wrap-around screen that looks rather sublime. Costly of course, but sublime.

I think the Fanatec CSW and pedals are about as high end as I'm ever going to be able to afford/justify to the wife.

Technically I don't have a wife until August 24th, even so I think I'd find it hard to justify Frex kit to myself.

I reckon I could justify it, doesn't take much to justify spending money on toys

I don't do many official races recently (will change with the Lotus 49), but even with just the UKI Oval stuff that's ~10-12 hours of racing/practice a week, and my current wheel has lasted me 5 years or so now so spending the ~£1000 or so iirc, if I had it 'spare' I could probably justify.

I'm really looking forward to the Lotus 49 being released... Think I'll move up to it after the Skippy and then on to the Lotus 79.

Yeah, that should be good, GPL was my first experience of sim racing, although I would've preferred they did the Eagle Weslake, as that's clearly way better than the Lotus but either way it's gonna be fun, Skippy on steroids hopefully

Fixed my wheel rim.

Don't think it will last as long as the last repair (3 months) hopefully long enough for me to get a replacement rim.

That's correct, they would have paid up front, so when the team decided to remove it from the list they gave all customers a refund in the form of iRacing credits of the same value which could be immediately spent on anything else. They will get the car for free when it becomes available.
