iRacing

Woot I just won my first race, only 3 incidents which were off tracks. Lead the whole race till lap 15 were I went off the track really badly on the first turn, causing the 8 second gap between me and second to close down to 1. Thankfully I managed to keep calm and composed for the rest of the race to take my first ever proper race win on Iracing :D

Nice one. :)

Brands Hatch in the L79 is a lot of fun. When you manage to string a few laps together that is.. flows really well and it constantly feels like you are on the limit which of course makes it difficult to keep it on the road at times :p

You need to cut the green rumble strips at Brands to be quick.

Coming upto T1 theres white line that goes across the track use that as your brake marker and brake light and down to 4th turn in as though you will hit the curb on the right and use power to push the car wide full gas all the way until the shadow under the bridge then trail the brake upto the T2 apex.

Stay wide on the right going into T3 then sweep in early and use as much green rumble strip on the right on your way out.

Start to brake as the dark patch starts to curve around to the left for T4 and position the car to the left to where a white line starts and if you get that perfect which is not easy you can put the power down hard and fast from the start of that white line and that's is very important for a good lap time at Brands.

Small dab of brake and into 4th for under the bridge and after that is where you need to really start cutting the corners with this next right hander leave the car in 4th and cut it hard as you can and power out and again use plenty if not all green rumble on the left as you exit.

Next right is blind and you can cut this one much more than you think you can without penalty so can make or lose lots of time there. With the old original lotus that used to have much more downforce than the current one I used to take this flat but cant do that now im afraid as that was a real thrill that not many could do.

Then just take the left and last right as good as you can.

This track takes lots of practice and you will be suprised how much lap times will tumble if you do the laps.

murray if you want I can upload my setup and replay from last season.

Ive uninstalled my Iracing for health reasons so my replay and setup are from last season and I don't know if the lotus was changed in the last build or not and if it was the setup may be no good now.

Replay is a 1.14.3 I think.

How does iRacing damage your health?

Apart from the stress it can induce.

My pedals arrive today so I can get hooning with my CSR wheel and Elite pedals. I have a terrible internet connection at home as far as download speed goes. Has anyone been able to back up their files and transfer them to another machine. Sat at work with a leased line, might as well use it!

I have a heart condition unstable angina and high blood pressure.

I had a heart attack racing GPL Monza 10 years ago and have had 3 more since then.

My BP is like 198/101 at rest maxed on 6 lots of meds and im strokable all the time never mind playing Iracing.

Ive just reinstalled Iracing again to do a few laps with Murray but im very rusty and a second off my old speed.

Managed to get around two seconds faster using the tips you said, I just have to do more laps to get faster now. I need to work on turn 2 and 4 the most since I can never get them right.

Man, that sucks.

Don't get doing yourself a mischief trying to help us out.

Was fun to run a few laps again.Grats on the times Murray.

Ive never raced Iracing the risk is too high for me so ive only ever done practice sessions in the Lotus but even doing that I have to use a spray under my tongue when I get chest pains to stop heart attack and cant run more than a few laps at a time but must admit I had fun today with Murray.

Murray T2 trail the brake upto the apex and wait a while before putting the power down there until you are more around the corner than your doing at the minute.

If you want I can upload a replay from last season when I was driving better than I am now and you can watch how I work the pedals and the lines I take.

Yeah, it'd be good to have a better look at what you are doing with the pedals if it isn't too much hassle uploading it and such.

I think I'm going to give the GT Challenge a wide berth. It's as bad as the rookie races, taken out in the first corner again. I had a big whinge over the mic at the guy that took me out, he claimed controller issues. I asked him why did he take the start if he had controller issues. He says he didn't know until turn one, how the hell did he do the lap for the rolling start then??

Sometimes this game is rage inducing.
