iRacing

Just bought myself a Logitech wheel, going to sort out a stand and my TV connected to the PC I think to get right into the mood! :D

Well tried the C spec RUF tonight I cant get my head round how a B class car is much much easier to drive that the C class RUF. How can that even make sense, Here learn this really hard car then when you master it go drive a much easier car.

Not sure if its just the base setup. But the brakes seem shocking, come down the box a little fast and the axle locks up. I thought 911 cup cars was meant to be a dream to drive.

Frigin nightmare more like.

Couldn't agree more.

I tried to drive it a few weeks back when the Ruf Cup and the GT3 series were at the same track. I don't think I managed a single clean lap in practice, so I'll be sticking with the GT3 series.

We'll if you can't get on with the Ruf Cup when you get there, then there's always the Sports cars series in the Riley. Out of all the cars in C class I've driven I think it's easier option.

Others might recommend the Radical, but I still find it a bit too tail happy for me.

I just couldnt get past you without diving up the inside which I didnt trust myself to do, was great fun mate. I was so close to you on a few occasions I was nearly in your back seat :D

Was a really enjoyable race! I find myself going off to slow at the start cause im worried about the tyres. I was keeping and eye and fully expecting a jab up the inside so was leaving a little room! I was starting to panic on the last two laps and you nearly had me!

I never pay attention to tyre temps, how long till they heat up?

Knowing my luck if i had tried i would have wrecked you and would not have lived it down lol

So what's the best series to go for after the MX5 Cup? Just thinking on money etc at the moment... Is it best to say go for RUF cup then buy each track every week when it changes?

Stick with the Mazda and do the Grand Touring Cup.

If you're going to stick with iRacing then it works out cheaper to buy six pieces of content in one purchase.

Got my self a 1min 22.6 at charlotte Road tonight. Which i'm happy with and my race pace is in the 1.23.00's without me being out of the comfort Zone so going to hit a few races up tomorrow before the track changes again.

When I was in the 1.25's and saw people running 1.21's I though it was crazy, but i'm nearly there now.

Ive managed one 1.22.5xx that's it. Im lucky to get low 1.23 now! Ive no idea what im doing wrong but I lose sooo much speed on big oval section

Sorted ill look into that tomorrow! I want to stick with it as I've honestly had some of the most fun head to head racing ever!

My mission is to get my head around that C spec RUF. I tamed the Track Car in an evening. But I'd feel much more confidant in doing a 70 min race at Road America, than I would the Cspec for 25 minutes at Suzuka, a track I know very well.

Are you changing to 5th gear on the final bend? I found that staying in 4th keeps my speed at 135/136mph rather than in 5th at 132/3mph?

I found that was the section I gained on you last night but that was probably because of the split stream.

I had a quick blast on the rookie track last night, I was using in 6th gear by the time I was in the final banked corner. Is there a difference between the two Mazda's in terms of gear ratios?

One is 5 speed the other is 6 speed. I find the 6 speed Mazda to be harder to handle personally! Im keeping it in 4th, you pick up speed from the moment we get on the first bank! It was irritating lol! :p

Also Cuffylad, what series you going to race next?

Shows how much attention I paid when I was driving rookie.

I really want to drive the ruf, so will probably go that route tbh. I do need to do 4 TT's and 4 races at D class level before I can progress though so will probably just run the Grand Touring cup next week. That will mean buying Road America track but that should give me two weeks in this series as the week after its summit point which we all have :D

So really I need to pick some tracks and buy them in bulk that will give me the most options incase I dont like the ruf :eek:

I think im going to purchase the rest of the tracks in the grand touring cup I think.. Then carry on with that and the Mazda cup while possibly like you getting the RUF
