I think im going to purchase the rest of the tracks in the grand touring cup I think.. Then carry on with that and the Mazda cup while possibly like you getting the RUF

Sounds like a plan, what is the pontiac like to drive compared to the mx5? or the jetta???

I didn't like the Pontiac at all and everyone else says that the Jetta is awful.

If I had my time again, I'd have stuck with the Mazda until I had my C licence. Then I think the MP4 would've been available and I'd have drive that. All the other cars I've bought have been no good (F1, Kia, Mustang) or I haven't been good enough (Corvette, Radcal and Riley) I haven't driven the Skippy, Lotus' and V8's much to decide, but the Ruf is so good I'll probably never find out.

The MX5 Cup is a six speed which has closer gear ratios than the five speed Roadster.

The Cup is also left hand drive which should favour Anit Clockwise tracks more than teh roadster, though the benefit will IMO be negligable. The Roadster has a hight top speed with the longer gear ratios, but around the last corners on Charlotte Road stay in 4th untill 137mph as it hits the limiter at 138mph.

oh god....newer faster cars xD
so getting my road SR up slowly :) did a TT last night giving a +0.05 :D

in that TT I did get a fastest lap of 1:23.660 in the mx-5 charlotte road.....but it's not registering that as my best on my stats page...still says the one from the other night of 1.24.xxx :\ I'm just wondering if I got a x0 incident on that lap so it's counted for the TT but not for my best? o.O

I dunno... I just feel robbed hahah!

The Jetta is terrible, I didn't hate the Pontiac as much as most people (it was the only rookie car back in my day) but the MX-5 is a much nicer car.

Will stick to the mx5 then, thanks :D

I was thinking of running a hosted event on Wednesday night from around 8pm till 9pm, 30 mins qualifying then a race for us all.

Would there be any interest in this and if so what car and track?

yes, street stock, charlotte oval. (ZZZzzzzz :p )

:p I'm up for this but I don't have much in the way of cars. maybe if I got my road up to class D before wed and bought something that you all are running?

unless we want to have a spin happy lol session in the legends :p

maybe since there are a few of us who are newer to Iracing we can start it off with the MX5, and maybe charlotte road since we have all had some practice on this over the last few days?

boo skill! more important things?!?!?! :p

well seeing as hosting a race doesn't cost an arm and a leg we could probably get a few in each week if and when people are about :)

Anyone else using an LCD TV for this game? Im thinking of hooking mine up using a DVI to HDMI cable. Would quality be ok? I got an old car seat and well.. you can see where this is going :p

Or am I better off using my mini hdmi port?

for my days of availability, most days I am about. if I do have plans in the week they are usually last min :p so thurs would be fine... can't see why not (yet ;) )

as for using the tv. can't see any major issues with it? something i'd look at though is if there is any HDMI lag to the display as I know some monitors and TVs can be slightly delayed. maybe possible blur/ghosting with fast paced action.... but then iracing is pretty standard graphically so probably not an issue. depends on the TV really :p

just don't go blind from sitting too close ;) see set ups with the tv pretty much on the wheel....big tv's too xD

hehe love it :D We need a build log please :D

Im not up on using TV's for gaming but is it not to do with the response rate? Also I believe the resolution plays a part, A 32-inch HDTV can sport the same resolution as a 27-inch monitor (assuming they're both 1080p), but blown up an additional five inches. This makes everything a little fuzzy and not conducive for reading.

However I am no expert so I will leave the others to advise you on it, but my advice would be just test it if you have the cables already :D

ay, try them both. see if there's any difference.... if any? :p vga should have no problem doing 1080p as have had laptops/pcs hooked up to both hdmi and vga on my tv and to be fair I think it's all the same xD don't think there was hdmi lag or if there was it was barely noticeable.

but yeah... pics or didn't happen xD
