Iron Man

Irony. IMHO.

:)

It had some bits that made me feel uneasy, on the same level as the gay bits on hollyoaks and shameless..... they were supposed to be funny/amusing, so i figured they were for the intellectually inferior, because they were immensely cringeworthy.

You coulda used ironic atleast.. it sounds so much better.. especially in cockney :(

it was incredibly GAY when he was strutting down the street, it was blatently aimed at the unintelligent and extremely immature audience, it was just really really corny, but not even amusing corny. It was possibly one of the worst films iv ever seen.

Ar man that was funny :o :p

What was wrong with Spidy 3?

I thought it was good, ok not as good as Spiderman 1 and certainly 2 but still good none the less

apart from the first scene with the goblin, the engagment scene and I thought the part when they go to the jazz club was alright.

apart from that it was utter rubbish and the sand man just did not seem like he belonged in the film, which really killed it for me.
I've just seen nitefly's post he's pretty spot on right there.

oh I don't want to change the post to much iron man still looks good

the company i work for is doing a run of lisenced merch for this film

it looks ok

but the highlight for me is on the trailer i saw in a development meeting
with 'iron man' by black sabbath playing in the background

film looks to be along the standard of the recent comic book/film tie ins [not too bad]
video game looks to be along the standard of the recent comic book/film tie ins [terrible]

I'm sure when i was younger i read a book ( front cover was black with silver image of a man ) and in the end he drops into the sea off some cliffs ( pretty sure thats what happened or i could have made it up ) anyway isn't that the iron man?

I loved both spiderman and Ironman as a kid so I know I'm gonna love the Ironman film.

Spiderman 3 was alright if you consider Venom was forced upon Raimi.. Venom is only really loved by the newer Spiderman fans, the fans of the older comics never really liked him/it. I liked the sandman storyline and wasn't right bothered about Venom at all.

Either way I was entertained with spiderman 3 and I know Robert Downey Jr was born to play Tony Stark :D

I thought spiderman 3 was truly awful and will be distraught if iron man is anything like it, thankfully its said to be nothing like it. Iron man was always my fav marvel character, iv been looking forward to this for donkeys, cannot wait to see it now. Next up captain america tbh :D

Saw Iron Man tonight and really enjoyed it. The story wasn't amazing (wasn't bad either tbh) but the CGI and action sequences were really great and Robert Downey Jr was an excellent choice for Tony Stark, he pulled it off very well. It was just a really good, i guess "stylish" film and as a fan of the old Iron Man cartoons etc i thoroughly enjoyed it :)

edit: stay till after the credits ;)

That not The Iron Giant?

Am seeing this film soon. Robert Downey Junior is pretty much great in anything he does. Can't wait.

It's pretty good. Robert Downey Jr IS Tony Stark.

However, it does just seem like a huge trailer. The sequel to this will be AWESOME.

The CGI was really really good.

got tickets for a showing tonight, quite looking forward to it.

RDJ seem to be looking like a smaller version of stallon (face and hair)!

I actually really enjoyed it. the majority of the humour is aimed at adults not kids and with people getting shot/killed in 3rd world countries its not the typical happy superhero film like spiderman, where people only get knocked unconscious/put in jail.

The effects were great, and some of them were hard to distinguish as being cgi rather than animatronics.

Some cheesy one liners were thrown in, and the whole "i've changed" speech between stark and pepper was pretty cheesy, but aside from that the acting and cast was great.

Storyline was obvious in most places, but it told it well and kept you watching it the whole way through. Downey Jr is a great actor and pulls off starks character very well.

All in all, decent film with great cast and amazing visuals. Fast cars, guns, robot supersuits and lots of explosions, what more could you want?

went to see this last night and tbh i really enjoyed it :)

it was funny in places, cheesy but not overly cheesy! cgi looked awesome and it told the story well (ive never read or seen anythin to do with iron man before and i knew what was goin off lol)

Oh, also apparantly theres an extra scene at the end of the credits that i missed (had to watch it on youtube) for anyone thats going to see it soon

Saw this last night. Enjoyed it but felt it was missing something.

Compared to other films of its type, the story and non action scenes are very very good, but felt the action was lacking, specifically the final showdown. I felt it actually needed one more action scene, and the final one to actually be any good.

Just got back from seeing it. I thought it was great. The action was great, the humour was spot on and the majority of the acting wasn't that bad either. Sure, it's just like any of the other comic book films of late, but it's good fun for a fiver :)
