IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL?

aaargh, i got a BSOD, an IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL one to be precise, i've been in to check my IRQ ranges and have a few conflicts, anyone got a resolution for me?
 
I had one that was related to the nVidia Network Access Manager, BSOD everytime I plugged the ethernet cable for the internet in. However, I think it's a general driver-related issue, you need to get the error codes to get a more precise fix. I think, not 100% sure!

i have dfi lanpartyut nf3250GB so i have the nvidia network manager, how can i change this so there's no conflicts or do i not need to?

Nvidia chipsets seem to be utter garbage when it comes to this sort of thing. A quick google will reveal no end of hacked off users suffering from the same. I've had BSOD not lees/equal and even random crash/no message/BSOD no message stuff.

I 'Solved' mine by disabling/unistalling every part of the Nvidia network/firewall stuff and buying a 10/100 pci card. Not a solution at all when you end up up disabling a pile of stuff on your "feature rich" motherboard just to get the damn thing to work.
 
but then i'd still have those conflicts as highlighted above :S like the sata and USB ones, as i use sata and USB it's not much good :S
 
BSOD`s more commonly happen due to an error with computing a memory string (check your ram) or a failiure for the CPU to calculate a specific instruction (not less or equal / error divide by zero)

it doesnt matter that they have the same IRQ anymore. back in 95/98 days it matter, every device needed its own.
 
Strangely enough, IRQ NOT OR LESS EQUAL has nothing really to do with IRQs :confused: (Typical Windows)
We need the full stop code to be able to do anything useful, but my first two ports of call woud be memtest & lowering any clocking present. If this does nothing, I would then upgrade the drivers.

ok, will lower my CPU speed, RAM is running fine dropped WAAAAY down to 133MHz, left memtest on for 2 days with no problems, BSOD disappears after around a second and i CBA to wait with a camera for a crash lol.
 
You want to turn off restart on BSOD errors: Open System Properties (right click My Computer, select Properties). Select the Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery Settings button, System Failure section, check Writen an event.. , uncheck Automatically restart.

That should allow you to get the full stop code.

When i first put together my new system i was getting that error message all the time. I did a fresh install and did not install any of the Nvidia stuff that related to Network managment and everything has worked fine since.

Cant say that this was the problem for sure but it worked for me

Same herw ith my mobo, I installed loadsa stuff with it the first time round (the nvidia firewall and stuff), eventually got bsoded to death and had to reinstall. Second time round only installed what was abolsutely necessary, got it working and no BSOD's yet after 1 month :) (*touches wood ;)*)
 
I haven't seen the dreaded "irq....blah blah" BSOD in about 3 years on my own machines. My old workstation with full scsi u160 got it and the fix I found was not to install the latest drivers for the u160 card. I used the WHQL ones that came with Win2k and the problem went away instantly.

I have seen it the odd time with other peoples PC's and 9/10 times they are running a mobo with a lot of integrated kit alongside a PCI IDE/SATA/Scsi card. If this describes your rig, try moving the "bus hogging" card to another slot that doesn't share an interupt.
