Overclocking your RAM a little bit more is going to make naff all difference to the overall performance of your PC though. Is your RAM designed to take that voltage? Last edited: 22 May 2012

So I can go up to 1.6 with an IV CPU without hurting the chip? If so, I'll bump it up to 1.6 and see what max OC I can get with that. yes I do know OCing RAM provides minimal benefit compared to GPU/CPU.

I've not seen any statement from OcUK about Ivy Bridge so you should be good to at least the same limit and people seem to be fine using 1.65V. Whether or not there are any possible long term effects.....

Well like Sandy Bridge a lot of tested RAM is of the 1.65V variety but OcUK do recommend slightly lower for Sandy Bridge. Err on the side of caution, stick to 1.60V, and you should be perfectly fine.

That would be your choice to make. Cythx said: but I'm not sure about IB. Click to expand... Play it safe then. There's so little to be gained from modest RAM overclocking.
