Is 4.8 @ 1.18volts good for a 8600k overclock , tested with prime 95

I think it would go lower , but I have spent ages testing just bringing it down from 2.8v to 1.18 volts testing each step along the way...

Temps seem pretty good at 73 degrees using a h80i v2 ....I guess people will say delid it , but I'd rather lose a few mhz and keep the 3 year warranty.

I originally set it to 2.8v (gigabyte z370 k3 mb) to overclock working up from 4.4. ghz , went to 5.0 ghz then brought it back to 4.8 ghz , then started to reduce my voltage downwards.

Nice , I picked it up used , the last owner said he had it running at 5.2ghz...but I am happy running it lower and cooler

What's the default volts for the i5 8600K?

If it's stable in Prime95 plus some other basic testing I'd raise it to 1.185-1.2 then you know it will be stable for pretty much anything even for hours.

That's really nice, mine does 4.8ghz at 1.23v which I thought was pretty solid.

I'd get that to 5.2 to be honest!
