Is a Quest 2 the way to go?

Once you get into sideloading games and movies then you can use up the internal storage pretty quickly. Another thing to consider is many games don't support cloud saves, and deleting a game also deletes your saves.

Might be enough demand for a sticky Quest 2 info thread at this rate :)

Perhaps you could get @Unseul to organise and manage it.

Oculus Quest 2 Reviews

Edit - doh, hit a media limit on this post. @Zefan might need your help please. Perhaps add it to the Quest 2 Owners thread (once finished)?

gotta say, wasn't expecting so many helpful and informative replies. many many thanks to all. looking more and more like the 256gb as i imagine i will use it more for movies and the like rather than games

I honestly think it's one of the best 'bang for buck' items I have ever bought. It's game changing, a lot of fun, and you can burn a few calories doing so.

Oh nice, hadn’t actually fully considered the calorie burning side of things.
Yes, I do enjoy seeing how many calories I burn, using Move, when playing Beat Saber but mostly in FitXR.
Is Move an app or game of some sort that measures calories burned while using the device?

edit: sorry i should probably Google these questions instead of bombarding you folks in here!!

The VR section of the Forums is a very helpful, friendly place.

It's excellent. Most Quest games are pretty small so the 64gb will be fine. I have a Q2 having briefly owned the G2 first. The Q2 is just brilliant. I use it untethered 90% of the time, only using the link cable when I want some sim racing, alyx, or some other Steam purchase.

Yes it was an app preinstalled on my Q2.
nice, cheers

certainly more so than the GPU or GD sections!!
Couple of large threads about the Quest 2, games, accessories, virtual desktop etc. Loads of good info in them. :)
looked at the op on the accessories thread but most of the links went to random posts rather than actual products - unless i was doing summat daft (which is entirely possible!)
It's a forum...... it's what we do ma'am.

why thank you kind sir (gotta imagine that in a female Matthew McConaghy southern accent for full effect)

just been looking at the size of games and they are indeed quite small, but i'm gonna guess movies will be huge going off what someone mentioned further up.

Why don't you stream movies to it? Rather than copy them onto it.

You can stream films from Plex to the headset.

Beaten to it. I should have read melmac’s post before answering.

It's also possible to hook a drive up using USB OTG and transfer content back and forth. So if you were on a flight, for example, you could have movies on a portable SSD.

now, i wonder is this classed as an essential purchase seeing as i've a 14 mile drive to pick it up if i go for the 64gb version :p;)
