Is Disney lost in our Culture?

My godchildren and nephews all absolutely adore Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, the lot....there is no way you can say that the old school Disney characters aren't relevant - many kids still love them!

I am pretty sure my eldest nephew would implode from the excitement and cause a black hole if he actually ever met Mickey Mouse :D

Disney is awesome, i went for the first time 2 years ago when i was 22, absolutely loved it (florida that is). It did feel special going into the Magic Kingdom for some reason lol.

Uh, Disney own Pixar.

Disney is still as relevent in todays culture as it ever was, they have moved with the times however they have done it so well we don't tend to associate them NOW with them "back in the day".

I think what you are trying to say is that oddly movies and character that are 10-20+ years old aren't relevant today.

Odd that.

really? i thought pixar were under contract to disney for X years. pixar was setup by george lucas if i recall.

I really hated Disney stuff as a kid. No idea why. Now I have a wee nipper some of it is truly great. Some. I don't like how their DVDs are packed full of trailers and price fixed.

asda has some deals on at the moment. but they are buggers for it normally. plus offers normally limit to the 'not great' ones.

My kids don't really care about Mickey Mouse. They prefer WB characters like Daffy, Bugs, and Porky. Oh and Tom & Jerry, they love the old ones of those!

But they love Pixar stuff, and the Disney movies (like Tangled, Cinderella, Lion King etc etc).

I think they'd actually explode if we took them to Disney World.

I used to like Lilo & Stitch, annoyed they ended it, but I still watch the films when they're on. don't like that Manga version of Stitch thats still on either

I purely meant the first movie, the sequels and spin offs were awful...loved the first film to death, brings out the big kid in me. Solid morality tale as well, then again, most Disney is.

In my day Disney world was the big thing as a kid...and out of reach for most

Now I don't think it carries the same wow factor for kids these days.

Is Disney The life dream it once was?

Harry Potter World, bigger better and closer to what kids want

Also disney are making the avengers series of films iirc
