Unfortunately yes, unless you have a 6th gen CPU you can borrow, you will need to return the MB to either be flashed to the latest BIOS or swap to a different MB (my preferred).

We're assuming of course that this is the problem - as you may have the latest BIOS but a totally unrelated problem...
 
When you say return the motherboard do you mean back to OcUK as that's whee I purchased it... could I just send the parts back and get a Few new parts for a Ryzen build instead then I know all parts are find together

I know they offer the service - it's free with Ryzen (as it's a new format) - not sure with your MB as it states it's 6th Gen motherboard - you would need to clarify with OcUK where you stand on the CS Forums.

NOTE: We're assuming of course that this is the problem - as there's a chance you may have the latest BIOS installed but a totally unrelated problem (seems a bit too coincidental - and issue is identical).

You could - but will cost considerably more, depending on what you spec. What was the intended purpose of the PC?

I'd just get the basic 1400 Ryzen.. it's only going to be for surfing the internet and playing a little gaming like

Resident evil
Sims
Minecraft
So not high end gaming

I can't argue with the Ryzen choice if you have the funds...

Obviously, swapping out the MB is the cheapest option - if funds are tight - and the G4560 is mighty performer for the money and would happily play those games, paired with the 1050ti at 1080p.

The other hesitation is if you start upgrading your components to better, more expensive kit your PSU choice will not be ideal - again an added expense if you were to upgrade to a better budget unit.

I understand what you mean mate... if I was to upgrade the parts I'd definitely get a better PSU for sure... I will have a proper look and work out what spare cash I have to spend before deciding

Woooooohooooooo ive sorted out the issue... i unplugged the 4 Pin connector at the top left of the motherboard and switch it with the other connector that was attactched to it and it worked so maybe it was the wrong 4 Pin plug I put in.. now ive found out this 15' monitor I was given doesnt have a hdmi port so I can't get it on it just says self test check... be monitor it is then :p

Great - you can get adaptors - hdmi to DVI-d.

I should have clarified the input into your monitor - is it VGA or DVI-d (don't want you buying wrong cable/adaptor)?

And without sounding pessimistic - we don't know yet if PC will display anything. Your fans may be spinning etc - but that doesn't necessarily mean anyone's home, so to speak.

Keep fingers crossed.

Well for now your a legend :p

The monitor has a DVI-D input... if I use that kind of cable I won't need the cable with blue adapters at each end will i
