Is Game of Thrones worth watching?

It's good but it's a little cheesy and clichéd. I'd prefer if it was serious serious like the BSG reboot.

I'm sorry to say that pretty much every other fantasy book series you read after a Song of Ice and Fire will seem childish and linear, with cliche ridden one dimensional characters. Such is the strength of Martin's work.

Havent watched it yet, but a lot of friends have reccomended it. A few scenes were filmed less than a mile from my house, in fact i was working a few hundred yards from one of the locations where they were filming up on the nort coast. Might check it out as im running out of things to watch.
 
I watched the 1st season but then I gave up since I thought the sex scenes were overlong/pointless and everyone on the show is an a-hole, so there is no-one to root for (or if there is then they are killed off). Seems like everyone else is obsessed with it, so I might watch the lot anyway when it's finished so I don't have to wait for each episode.

Stick with it if that's what's putting you off. There are next to no sex scenes in the 3rd season and if I remember correctly not much in the second either. Tyrion is pretty much my favourite character in anything and the others are coming along nicely.

Maybe I will buy the lot on blu-ray. Are there just going to be 4 seasons since they will catch up with the books soon (or so I heard)?
 
Probably my favourite show of all time - even ahead of The Wire. Although every time I see it now I think of that Barely Political song on Youtube. (I won't link it as naughty words and spoilers)
 
Having watched the first 2 series, i thought it was brilliant. Havent had a chance to watch any of the 3rd season but i have them all recorded on my sky hd box so will get round to watching them in the next few weeks.

Probably do a weeks marathon of the 3rd season.
 
I'm in a good place to answer this, I've never read the books or seen any of the series and didn't think it would be interest me. Then I watched the first episode after the third series had ended.

Put it this way, I enjoyed the first and thought I would watch the second, I then watched every episode up to the end of the third series in a week :D
 
And I'm in love with Sansa and the dragon girl..........which are just some of the reasons it's worth watching ;)

I never said it's not worth a watch though. It is one of the better shows on the box right now, I won't deny that.

It is definitely worth a watch but i dont think it is not as amazing as most people make it out to be.
